2ND ANNUAL AFRICAN ENTERTAINMENT AWARDS MALAYSIA 2011

The 2nd Annual African Entertainment Awards (AEA 2011) took place in the Grand Ballroom of One World Hotel, Petaling Jaya Selangor, Malaysia on Saturday, 2nd of April 2011 and will be aired in United Kingdom & Africa TV channels courtesy of Big Boyz Entertainment crew of Ginger Show (UK) that flew in to cover the event. The night was undoubtedly the celebration of music, fashion, lifestyle and philanthropy including the salute to individual that have contributed immensely to African development in Malaysia.

AEA 2011 was a remarkable, memorable evening that delivered a high standard rating compared to the previous year. The award showcased AEA 2011 finalists, the year’s best and brightest winner especially in the music category as voted by fans all over the world.

Kuala Lumpur experienced a glamorous turn-out of Africans from all standards such as international students, residents and professionals from in and around Southeast Asia. The evening was lit up with exciting lined up of
performances that entertained and engaged the audience from mostly African international artists, upcoming African artists in Malaysia, local Malaysian Acts and student organizations.

Mr Tope Esan, founder and organiser of Nigerian Entertainment was present in Malaysia for AEA2011 said, “We look forward to working with AEA Malaysia on our forthcoming Nigerian Entertainment Awards (NEA) in New York this September, what a thrilling night it truly was”. Mr Esan received AEA 2011 Recognition Award.

International dignitaries was present at the event and among dignitaries present at the occasion was Mr. Babatunde Nurudeen , Acting High Commissioner of the Nigerian High Commission, Kuala Lumpur, Puan Noraidah Lembang representative of the Ugandan High Commission Kuala Lumpur, Diplomats from Zimbabwe High Commission, Ms Amanda Brown of Amanda Brown Couture, Mr. Unesu Stig, celebrity fashion photographer, Alh. Razak Tunde Adeyemi CEO of Goody Foody Restaurant (AEA 2011 Achievement Awards Recipient), Mr. Emmanuel Ejike Ononiwu , CEO Cronier Wines Sdn bhd (AEA 2011 Recognition Award Recipient), Botsalo Lardgence Morotsi, President of the executive committee and Botswanan Embassy representative, head of Institutions, press and media.

The highlight of the awards will be the Best Male Artist award which was swept by an upcoming artist from Nigeria named Ketchup however others that won big will include Calisto (Zimbabwe) for Best Pop Artist, Eva Lopa (Sudan) for Model of the Year, Cynthia Umacu (Rwanda) for Most Beautiful Female of the Year, Oleku by Ice Prince (Nigeria) for Best Song of the Year, African International artist Winky D (Zimbabwe) for Best Mainstream Act of the Year and the Best Rock-Out School went to Limkokwing University of Creative Arts, Cyberjaya Malaysia for the second time in a role.

As the memories of AEA 2011 still linger in our hearts and mind, the organizer of this most anticipated African Entertainment Award, Orange Box Entertainment CEO, Mr. Andy Daniel promises his audience a more exciting AEA 2012 with lined up of internationally recognized artist and performances that will keep the audience wanting more.
