MR. 2KAY BAGS SIX NOMINATIONS AS NDAA UNVEIL 2015 NOMINEES LIST

The organizers of Niger Delta Advancement Awards (NDAA) have announced the nominees of the 2015 edition of the annual awards. The announcement, which was made on Monday, April 27, at Casablanca Sport Bar & Restaurant, G.R.A, Phase, Port Harcourt, was attended by some of the nominees, PH based entertainment stakeholders and entertainment journalists from various media houses.
Running in its 6th edition, the NDAA 2015 nominees list sees, David Jumbo aka Mr. 2Kay dominating the list with six nominations (including features) in the 24 category list. The Grafton Records artiste will be contending with artistes like Kcee, Burna Boy, Omawumi, Iyanya, Timaya, Waconzy and a host of others.

The producer of "Bad Girl Special", Ayzed also got a piece of the action, as he is nominated in the 'Best Music producer' of the year category. According to the organizers, all the nominees are celebrated already, but a few will be awarded based on the criteria and votes by the general public.

DAVID OYELOWO EMERGES 'OUTSTANDING ACTOR IN A MOTION PICTURE' AT THE 46TH ANNUAL NAACP IMAGE AWARDS

The civil rights drama "Selma" took home top film honors, while ABC's Black-ish and How to Get Away With Murder won top television awards at The 46th annual NAACP Image Awards."We did this movie because we wanted to tell their story — our story," Selma producer Oprah Winfrey said accepting the honor for her film.

"Selma," which dramatizes events surrounding the 1965 Alabama voting rights marches led by the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., also captured best actor honors for David Oyelowo, who played King."I want to take this opportunity to say I thank the Lord I was able to play one of the most transcendent human beings who ever walked the planet," Oyelowo said.

David Oyetokunbo Oyelowo (born 1 April 1976) is a British actor, who hails from the yoruba tribe in Nigeria. He has played supporting roles in the films Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011), Middle of Nowhere (2012), Lincoln (2012), and garnered praise for portraying Louis Gaines in The Butler (2013). On television, he played MI5 officer Danny Hunter in the British series Spooks (2002–04), and as of 2014, provided the voice of Imperial Security Bureau agent Kallus on the animated series Star Wars Rebels. In 2014, Oyelowo played Martin Luther King, Jr. in the biographical drama film Selma, for which he received a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actor (Drama).

He is married to actress Jessica Oyelowo, with whom he has four children. They live in Los Angeles. A devout Christian, Oyelowo stated that he believes God called him to play Rev. Martin Luther King. Reflecting on his portrayal of King in the film Selma, Oyelowo has asserted that “I always knew that in order to play Dr. King, I had to have God flow through me because when you see Dr. King giving those speeches, you see that he is moving in his anointing."

The Image Awards aired live on TV One last Friday.

BEYONCE, MILEY CYRUS, ARIANA GRANDE, KATY PERRY, OTHERS WIN BIG AT MTV VMAs

*As JAY Z and Blue Ivy Present “Michael Jackson Video Vanguard” Award to BEYONCÉ*

*Lagos| Nigeria: *MTV <http://www.mtv.com/> Base hosted an epic night of music with unforgettable performances, unpredictable moments and heartfelt  messages as the 2014 “MTV Video Music Awards” (24 August).

The awards, which held at the Forum, Inglewood in California had *BEYONCÉ *welcome MTV and the audience to earth shattering performances of hits from her visual album “*BEYONCÉ”. *After BEYONCÉ broke Justin Timberlake’s 2013 record for the longest VMA performance ever, JAY Z and Blue Ivy unexpectedly joined her on stage for a highly emotional moment as her  family presented her with the “Michael Jackson Video Vanguard” Award.

Humbled and speaking through tears, *BEYONCÉ* thanked God, her daughter, her “beloved,” MTV and her fans. She also won the most awards of the evening, taking home Moonmen in three different categories, including “Best Collaboration” for “Drunk in Love” and “Best Video With a Message” for
“Pretty Hurts”.

*Miley Cyrus *shocked the world by leaving her twerking ways behind her and delivering a heartfelt message as she took away the “Video of the Year,” award. A former homeless youth in Los Angeles named Jesse took the stage in her place to accept her award on behalf of the 1.6 million runaways and
homeless youth in the U.S.  From the side of the stage, Miley teared up watching him make a call to action, directing fans to her Facebook page to join the fight to end youth homelessness.  Jesse ended with an emotional quote, “a dream you dream alone is only a dream.  A dream you dream
together is a reality.”

The 2014 “MTV Video Music Awards” opened with the summer’s fiercest female threesome.
rump-shaking performance.

Finally, British singer-songwriter *Jessie J* joined the titillating trio to bring the house down with their smash-hit, “Bang Bang”. Nicki returned with a wardrobe malfunction that left her clutching her dress.

Before introducing “Best Hip-Hop Video”, *Common* asked the VMA audience for a moment of silence to mark the events taking place in Ferguson, Missouri, with some members of the in-house audience responding by spontaneously raising their hands overhead. Introduced by super-fan *Kim Kardashian West*, British singing sensation and first-time VMA performer *Sam Smith* mesmerized the audience - and the Kardashian-Jenner sisters - as he and his band orchestrated a soulful rendition of his powerful hit ballad “Stay with Me”.

Multi-platinum global R&B star *Usher* also delivered a funk-filled performance of his single “Give it to You,” bringing the audience to their feet and surprising everyone when *Nicki Minaj* once again returned to join him onstage during their rhythmically charged set.
