OBIORA OBIWON - POUR YOUR LOVE

Mostly famous for his endearing and now classic love songs, Obiora Obiwon sings of the higher kind of love in “Pour Your Love”.
Pour Your Love is one of the stellar singles off his recently released third album. The album entitled “Gold Water” is gradually pulling a quiet storm in the gospel music scene and enjoys rave reviews.
Pour Your Love is produced by long time production collaborator Phat-E and features Obiwon’s The Rebirth Band on back vocals. The record is simply an outpour of raw emotions and spirit over simple lyrics and chords on a contemporary pop style. It is also characterized by an intense account of the vocals the singer is usually known for.

ABOUT OBIORA OBIWON:

Obiora Obiwon announced a full-time gospel music ministry in 2008, following through with his first gospel album The Rebirth in 2009. Since then he has consistently impacted the events and gospel music scene with the new sound.  The album became noted for the hit wedding anthem Obi Mu O and the praise song F.a.t.h.e.r.
His 2006 debut Overture had previously produced the classic ballad Onyinye and garnered vocal performance awards and other nominations.
In recent times the R'n’B-Singer-Turned-Urban-Gospel-Music-Minister was honoured at the 2013 National Gospel Awards, nominated twice at the Nigerian Gospel Music Awards 2013 and has become a regular feature in the entire gospel music landscape.
His third effort and second gospel album “Gold Water” was recently released at an album launch concert in November 2013.

Sneak Peak - "When I Say I Love You" - Live @ Obiwon's wedding

"Here's a live video of urban gospel artiste Obiora Obiwon performing the unreleased "When I Say I Love You" along with Obi Mu O for his bride at his wedding.

The ballad "When I Say I Love You" will feature on his upcoming third album "T.R2012"

"Obi Mu O" crooner Obiwon is engaged.

Forever is not a word…rather a place where two lovers go when true love takes them there.

R’n’B crooner turned urban gospel artiste Obiora Obiwon has witnessed enough transitions to keep the Nigerian urban music scene guessing and his followers constantly on their feet. Nevertheless, the successes of the albums “Overture” which spun the hit ballad “Onyinye” and “The Rebirth” equally heavily driven by the hit wedding anthem “Obi Mu O”, position him as a force not to be ignored in Nigerian popular music and beyond.

His third album, T.R2012 poses to be the sequel to the successful 2009 sophomore “The Rebirth”. Yea! Yea!! Yeaa!! enough about music, right?

The award winning artist just got engaged to his long term fiancee, Ms. Nkechi Ezeife. The traditional wedding took place 24th September, 2011 which was last weekend at the bride's home town Igbo-Ukwu in Anambra state. Speaking on his engagement, Obiwon tells Olamild Ent "I just want to thank all my people for the overwhelming support and massive shower of love and prayers even as we head for the white wedding. I'm wishing all of them triple of all that they've wished me."

We at Olamild Ent congratulate the Nwokolobia and the Ezeife's family; we also wish the newlyweds a joyous life together as one.

Obiwon releases 3 new singles from the 'T.R 2012' album.

After a brief stint with award winning HipHop group Thorobreds, Obiwon made his solo debut in 2006 with Overture while working nine-to-five in a commercial bank. Shortly after the release of the album, Obiwon resigned the bank job to completely focus on his burning musical passion. Overture gained instant critical acclaim and some measure of commercial success, with the awards following in 2007 at the “HipHop World Awards” and “Nigerian Music Awards” for vocal performance.

In 2008 Obiwon made several references to a deep spiritual experience and new focus on gospel themes while starting off work on a much anticipated sophomore, The Rebirth. The well accepted album mostly showcased his new sound and faith journey, introducing him to a new urban gospel audience.

Obiwon currently tidies “T.R2012”, the sequel to his sophomore title and his third full length album. On this album, Obiwon boldly reiterates the convictions, confessions and shares more experiences of The Rebirth. Musically, the album successfully experiments eclectically with electronic music, cultural Nigerian rhythms and HipHop styles over his characteristically expressive vocals.

On his general musical path and future, the artiste affirms, “My greatest musical ambition is to be vehicle for music that speaks life and brings healing and can also be fun when required. I’m so thankful to have finally found the purpose of my own existence and gifting and I’m glad to continually give in to the higher calling”.

Obiora Obiwon Releases “Songs from T.R2012” August 28th

Secular musician turned urban gospel artiste Obiora Obiwon returns with three new singles from his forthcoming third album entitled “T.R2012”. T.R2012 poses to be the sequel to the successful 2009 sophomore “The Rebirth”.

He explains in his own words, “I felt I had so much to say and express musically on ‘The Rebirth’ which wasn’t said or heard enough, hence the urge to turn it up a notch and find more expression in a sequel”.

The three singles “Follow You”, “Good To Me” and “F.a.t.h.e.r (Part 2)” are scheduled for release starting Sunday August 28th 2011. The song F.a.t.h.e.r (Part 2) gets reissued after it debuted late last year and was later pulled back due to the artiste’s unavailability while undergoing minor surgery.

Musically, Obiwon experiments with a blend of electronic music over cultural rhythms and HipHop styles in varying degrees, while breathing his deepest convictions in rawer forms over characteristically expressive vocals.

Listeners and fans in Lagos can catch Obiwon on live interview to break the songs on the morning of Sunday the 28th with Freeze on Cool 96.9 Fm and with Yaw on 95.1 Wazobia Fm, as well as other radio schedules and fan give-aways within the issue week. Listeners across the globe will be able to stream and download the songs on major Nigerian music and entertainment sites.

On his general musical path and future, the artiste introspectively affirms, “My greatest musical ambition is to be vehicle for music that speaks life and brings healing and can also be fun when required. I’m so thankful to have found the purpose of my own existence and gifting and I’m glad to continually give in to the higher calling”

New Teaser Single - Obiora Obiwon - Great Again

In 2009/2010, a particular ballad and its HipHop remix, rendered partly in the Igbo language, inun

dated Nigerian wedding ceremonies and resonated across radio in Ghana and Kenya. The songObi Mu O grew out of The Rebirth album to further establish Obiora Obiwon as a force to reckon with in popular/urban Nigerian music.

Debuting in 2006 with Overture, Obiwon gained instant critical acclaim and some measure of commercial success with hits such as the emotive ballad Onyinye and Streetz of Lagos. The awards followed in 2007 at the illustrious HipHop World Awards and Nigerian Music Awards for vocal performance, amidst various nominations for songwriting, vocals and choreography.

In 2008 Obiwon made several references to a deep spiritual experience and new focus on contemporary gospel themes while starting off work on a much anticipated sophomore, The Rebirth. The well accepted album showcased Obiora's faith journey and served as his introduction to the urban gospel audience. With the release of new singles F.a.t.h.e.r Part II and Great Again (an ode to Nigeria), Obiora Obiwon prepares to capture an even deeper experience on a sequel project entitledT.R2011.

Great Again is a celebration of the collective hope currently sweeping through the Nigerian nation towards the general election. The song serves as a teaser for Obiora Obiwon's forthcoming official third album tentatively titled T.R2011 and is available for free download.

OBIORA OBIWON RELEASES NEW SINGLES; FEATURES ON INTERNATIONAL COMPILATIONS

In 2009 and 2010, a particular ballad and its HipHop remix, rendered partly in the Igbo language, inundated Nigerian wedding ceremonies and resonated across radio in Ghana and Kenya. The song Obi Mu O grew out of The Rebirth album to further establish Obiora Obiwon’s mastery of signature balladry. The success of this hit single seemed to distract, albeit temporarily, from the main theme of Obiora’s Christian faith-based sophomore.

Using the now almost customary “inspired remix” mode, Obi refocuses attention on The Rebirth with a high energy version of the praise/worship theme F.a.t.h.e.r, the second single off the album. My Father (F.a.t.h.e.r Part II) is much more than a remix, hence the ascription “part II”. Riding on an infectious groove, part II packs double the heat of the first, successful meshing of a pop/HipHop style into cultural rhythm and lingo.

On the b-side single, Obiora draws inspiration flowing from the recently concluded World Cup in South Africa for an unusual sound from him in the brand new One Voice. One Voice is an ode to the African continent and people and uses scenery from geographical landmarks to announce its beauty, strength and stance.

One Voice is already confirmed as a feature on two international compilations which will introduce Obiwon to a worldwide audience. The first is an Africa-themed project entitled “The Best of African Music: One World, One Love Edition”, via worldwide distributor Universoul Vibes and also featuring international acts Akon and Nas. The second entitled “Seat 1-A” The International Musical Experience” is a product of U.S based Bereolaesque movement. Both projects are billed for international release in 2010.

Both songs will later hit stores via a disc set entitled T.R2 (The Rebirth Relived). T.R2 will feature remixes, new songs, fresh collaborations and new videos.

Obiwon tagged 'the wedding singer.'

Obiwon known for the hit wedding single Obi Mu O has been tagged the wedding singer. The brother knows how to handle the microphone...you better call him to perform at your wedding. Olamild Ent is still dashing out free wedding songs. Request yours today.

Obiwon: Music as a force I encounter daily takes me way above and beyond the noise, throes, worries of this imperfect world. I'm imperfect and no different than the next guy with dreams, but the view and perspective is usually different from above. As a musician, I feel a huge sense of responsibility because of the power of music, just one song gets people to react to you in different ways and in a mixed manner of emotions. It's like having super hero powers, you can either decide to be a hero or a villian.

Obiwon - Bless U Lady [lyrics inclusive]

Everything I am everything I learnt

I know deep down my heart

Story of my life just would not

Be complete if not for who you are

hey...heey...bless you lady

U cared for the child inside

While I was fronting like a man

Oh how you understand

Caring and loving, supporting so I’ll stand

hey...heey...Bless you lady

That why I call you

Nne mu o. nne mu o. nne mu oma

Iya mi o. nne mu o. iya mi o. uwa na

Nne mu o. nne mu o. nne mu o...

And you’re the reason for my song/The reason for this love

Pouring out so much from my soul/But it can never be enough

To give back the joy/The pain that you bore

To lighten up my life/Your love’s from above

I’m grateful to you

Hey you don’t get me wrong

You know you too got my love

But you know there‘s something special

Really really special about a mother’s love

yes...yeah...bless u lady

Thank God and how He chose

To bless me through your arms

Got me saying today and everyday

I’m thankful for my guardian angel on earth

Hey...eey...bless you lady

And so I call you...

Nne mu o. nne mu o. nne mu oma

Iya mi o. iya mi o. Nne mu o. Uwa na

Nne mu o. nne mu o. Mama m’o...

And you’re the reason for my song... etc

And as long as I am living

I’ll take good care of you I’ll be your pride

Can never repay your unconditional love

So this will be my prayer all the time...

God bless you, bless you lady...
