Video: Tiwa Savage Pays Special Tribute to Zara Gretti Amidst Tears

The artiste community will mourn this beautiful songstress for quite some time with many Nigerian artistes taking to their individual platforms to celebrate Zara Gretti’s eventful life in many ways.

‘I just want to sing this song for Zara’ Tiwa said, as she took time out of her exciting performance at Star Music Trek Makurdi to give an emotional tribute to the late singer with the classic song ‘Missing You’ originally done by The Police.

The beautiful songstress, spoke on Zara’s short but eventful impact on her own life and moved the audience to tears as she poured praise on the singer who had touched her positively even though they had met ‘only a few times’.

Margaret Mary Oluwatoyin Ejiro Joseph, better known as Zara Gretti, died after a two year battle with Multiple Sclerosis on March 28^th 2014 and was buried on April 4th 2014 at Ikoyi Cemetery Lagos

Tiwa Savage Makes First Appearance on The Trek

…2Face, Timaya, Wande Coal, M.I Also Set to Perform at IBB Square Makurdi

Thousands of enthusiastic fans will this week converge at IBB Square, Makurdi as the second concert off the 10 city 10 week line up for Star Music Trek holds on April 5^th2014 in the sprawling city.

Fan favorites Tiwa Savage, 2Face, Timaya, Wande Coal and M.I will be mounting the stage as the momentum increases less than one week into The Trek.

The first stage of Star Music Trek 2014 held on Saturday March 29^th at Local Government Stadium Nsukka, with eager fans storming the venue in a bid to watch some of their favorite artistes perform.

The first lady of The Trek, Tiwa Savage, notes “I’m bringing Eminado live to the city of Makurdi, so happy to be back here performing for my fans.”

“Just be sure that we’ll be holding that stage down in Makurdi from start to finish, so don't miss out!,” the sultry singer enthuses.

 “I don’t know any other place, anyone would rather be at on April 5^th, Wande Coal acknowledges, “ Me and the crew are going to shut it down at IBB Square on April 5^th.”  “Expect everything you’ve ever wanted in a concert like this,” Dr SID promises…”and more.”

A pre- gig party will hold on April 4th 2014 at Pages Garden & Park, Makurdi, with lots of fantastic branded prizes such as phones, TVs and much more up for grabs.

Artistes on the Trek this year include 2face, Tiwa Savage, M.I, Olamide, Davido, Wizkid, Wande Coal, Sound Sultan, Pasuma, Mr Raw, Timaya, Dr Sid, Naeto C, KCee, Sean Tizzle, Phyno and May D.

Star Music Trek 2014 will be touring nine other cities: Uyo, Umuahia. Orlu, Ekwulobia, Onitsha, Benin, Ado Ekiti culminating in a spectacular grand finale which will hold at Jalisco Sports Center, Oshodi, Lagos State.

TRADITIONAL WEDDING PHOTOS: TIWA SAVAGE MARRIES TUNJI BALOGUN

Nigerian music diva, Tiwatope Savage Saturday afternoon officially got married to her beau, Tunji Balogun. At a star-studded private ceremony held at the Ark Event Centre in Lekki, Lagos, the Savage family officially handed over their daughter to the Balogun family.

The traditional engagement ceremony which lasted for four hours saw Tunji, the groom who doubled as Tiwa’s manager, arrive the traditional engagement ceremony venue earlier. He came in an unmarked Black Bentley accompanied by scores of his friends in a convoy of assorted cars. Tunji was resplendent in a white Agbada with a matching ‘Abeti Aja’ cap and bearded jewellery. He complemented his attires with a pair of black Christian Louboutin Suede shoes.

The event started proper with the groom family presenting the marriage items and dowry paid as required traditionally. And with the traditional marriage rites over, the reception followed with King Sunny Ade on the band stand. There were also performances by Don Jazzy, Banky W, Dr. Sid, Omawumi and Waje among others. The wedding venue was heavily secured by armed soldiers, supported by two sets of private securities to ward off gatecrashers and trouble-makers.

The wedding was planned by The Wedding Company and the unique interior decor was done by Uche Majekodunmi’s Newton David. Their white wedding has been slated for early next year.
