The Project I.B City team and MHF are happy to report that with your donations, we exceeded our target by raising a grand total of $7,300 (approx. N1, 131, 500). We are indebted to you for your kind donations towards this cause and helping us better the lives of the children of Oyiza. We thank you immensely.
All funds raised have been handed over to MHF, and have been appropriated as follows:
ü Payment of yearly rent for the period of March 2011 - 2012, to keep the Oyiza children sheltered for another year. (Complete)
ü Provision of clothing and food for the orphanage home. (Complete)
ü Purchase of 23 mattresses and baby cots for the orphanage (Ongoing)
ü Renovation of the orphanage’s nursery section and library. (Ongoing)
In addition, MHF put together a Christmas party and clothes drive for the orphanage, a gesture that was very well received and appreciated by the children. As the Oyiza transformation unfolds, we will keep you updated with pictures and letters from the children who have directly benefited from your generous donations. Also, MHF will provide a statement of accounts for full disclosure of the appropriation of funds.
There is still a lot of work to be done in Ibadan. There are countless homes like Oyiza and many more children who need help. More than just cash, the city of Ibadan needs new ideas from ambitious minds and willing hands to see positive change. Please visit our website www.projectibcity.org to see pictures from the launc h event, and also for updates in the next few weeks as we continue to redesign and re-engage our youth with ideas to impact Ibadan.
