ALL THE WOMEN YOU LOVE ON ONE STAGE! TAIWO AJAYI LYCETT, JOKE SILVA, KATE HENSHAW, BIMBO AKINTOLA, IRETIOLA DOYLE TO STAR IN 'HEAR WORD' THIS MAY

Renowed Director of ‘V Monologues’ and Sefi Atta’s ‘Not my Affair’ returns with another production - HEAR WORD starring Taiwo Ajayi- Lycett, Joke Silva, Kate Henshaw, Bimbo Akintola, Iretiola Doyle and Kemi Lala Akindoju scheduled for May, 2014 at the Muson Centre, Lagos.

HEAR WORD! is an exhilarating performance art production which would showcase true stories of triumph from 20 different Nigerian women. The production would combine artistry, social commentary and true-life stories of transformation delivered by some of Nigeria’s best known and most talented actresses.

Producer-Director of the play; Ifeoma Fafunwa said “These superb actresses offer us an intimate view into the lives of women from all walks of life as the monologues shine a light on the hidden part of each woman’s soul. I believe that this play will stimulate discussion as well as warm and sadden the heart.”

The play scheduled to show on various stages in May, 2014 in Lagos and Abuja will take the personal stories of women from all walks of life, all corners of Nigeria, and weave them together to create a tapestry of truth.

“HEAR WORD is a place where the highest quality of performance art comes together to express the potential of Nigerian women! It is a celebration of the Nigerian woman to be shared with the world! As the characters reveal themselves, you may recognize your sister, your mother, your friend, your wife and perhaps even yourself” Ifeoma Fafunwa added.

This production is presented by Ifeoma Fafunwa Productions.

The gathering was a platform for discussion on investment opportunities that abound in the African continent and practical steps towards the growth and development of businesses in Africa.

Mo Abudu, chief executive officer of EbonyLife TV was the host. ““So we all already know that this is a continent that is blessed, and it's even more blessed to have the quality of female business and political leaders who have leaned in to drive growth and development. This meeting emphasies the imperative of investment, of expansion, of a systemic approach to expanding wealth and opportunities for the continent."

Styled by celebrity stylist Yolanda Okereke, Nollywood Actress Kate Henshaw dazzled in a one of a kind embellished Jovani couture dress at the grand finale of Nigeria’s Got Talent Season 2.

The event, which held at Dream Studio on Saturday, February 8, 2014 and aired to millions on Nigerians on Sunday, February 9, 2014, saw the screen goddess stealing the show on the carpet in a embroidered floral sheer dress revealing some elements of her shimmering skin.

Nigeria’s Got Talent Season 2 was won by 2-man dance group, Roberts for Christ and had performances from Amarachi Uyanne, Season 1 winner and many more.


VICTORY WELL DESERVED: ROBOT’S FOR CHRIST WINS NIGERIA’S GOT TALENT SEASON 2

After months of endless hard work and commitment, Robots for Christ emerged winners of Africa’s No 1 talent hunt show, Nigeria’s Got Talent.

The 2-man dance group from Benson Idahosa University beat 9 of the brightest and most unique acts in Nigeria in the race for the sum of N10 million.

The grand finale, which was recorded on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Dream Studio and was aired nationwide to millions of viewers on Sunday, February 9, 2014 saw Daniel Azuka ‘A-Strings’ emerge second and 9-year-old drummer, David Aduragbemi Adekoya in third place.

The world tuned in to Nigeria, as finalists showed their prowess, dazzling judges and viewers, in a final bid to win the keenly contested grand prize of N10 million.

“We can’t express how we feel right now. We are just over joyed and are sincerely grateful to Nigerians for believing in us and voting for us,” said the excited duo.

“From their impressive costumes to their very well synchronized dance moves, the Robots for Christ were one act that always impressed us,” said a proud Yibo Koko.

The grand finale witnessed performances from Nigeria’s Got Talent Season 1 winner, Amarachi Uyanne, Bash the comedian and many more. Robots for Christ will be joining season1 winner Amarachi Uyanne as Airtel Ambassadors. 

KATE HENSHAW GIVES N50, 000 TO CONTESTANT ON NIGERIA’S GOT TALENT

Comedy sure does have a good effect on Kate Henshaw.

19-year-old comedian Laff Doctor, who is a finalist in the on-going Nigeria’s Got Talent Season 2, wowed the Nollywood actress with his wholesome comedy performance.

“I am sorry to the producers of this show for doing this, but I owe you N50, 000,” said an impressed Kate. “Your energy and timing is fantastic,” she added.

Laff Doctor also earned a standing ovation from Yibo Koko and Dan Foster after his performance. “This is what a performance should be like. You have just raised the bar for other contestants coming after you,” said a very proud Yibo.
