TRYBE RECORDS: K9 - KOKOMA [FLASH MOB VIDEO]

With K9's "Kokoma" freestyle already climbing the charts on radio stations all over Nigeria, there is no question that it's a hit. There are only 2 real questions that have remained: "What is Kokoma?" and "How do you dance to it?".

Only K9 can give you the answer to the 1st question, but some unsuspecting shoppers at a supermarket in Lagos got the answer to the 2nd question. Watch K9 and company wow them with an impromptu rendition of the Kokoma dance.

Now the question is: Can you Kokoma?

Eva Alordiah Parts Ways With eLDee’s Trybe Records

News went viral earlier today that Nigerian rapper, Eva Alordiah was parting ways with eLDee the Don’s record label, Trybe Records, after spending barely 5 months with the label.
In an official statement released by the label’s rep to BellaNaija Music a few minutes ago, the rumor has been confirmed to be true; the top femcee will be exiting the label effective immediately.
Here’s an official statement released by Trybe Records‘ rep:
“Trybe Records and Eva Alordiah have agreed to terminate her recording contract effective immediately. Trybe Records’ vision is to discover and nurture the talents of our artists while operating with purpose, valuing relationships with our partners within the industry, and being persistent in creating and releasing quality music.

Unfortunately, over the past 5 months, Eva’s vision has not aligned with ours and thus, both parties have agreed to separate. We wish Eva the best in her future endeavors and plan on continuing towards our goal of creating quality music for Nigeria and beyond.”
- Trybe Records
We wish Eva Alordiah all the best in her career.

TRYBE RECORDS’ ARAMIDE COVERS ELDEE’s HIT SONG “TODAY TODAY”

Fresh from her performances on Trybe Records' recent Olympic tour, the very talented singer/songwriter and musician Aramideunveils this viral video for her acoustic cover of eLDee's hit record, "Today Today".

After wrapping up a session at Iman Studios, Aramide shows off her prowess on the guitar and unique vocal style for some of the Trybe crew with a bold spin on the hugely popular song; only a keyboardist accompanies her as she sings while handling guitar duties in this primarily acoustic rendition.

The video highlights one of Aramide's many gifts - the ability to bring music to its purest, simplest form.  She ups the level of sentiment in this Pop hit, shedding the instrumentation and party-feel of the original, and smiling through a rendition that feels intimate and personal.

With her new single already recorded and the anticipation growing, the talented songstress who is signed to Trybe Records is currently putting the finishing touches to her debut album.

TRYBE RECORDS - NA WHO DEY HELP AM [SKIT]

The Trybe Records crew, the originators of yesterday's hilarious #NaWhoDeyHelpAm trend, have decided to share the audio for the skit that got the whole of Nigeria talking.  After a late night session in Iman Studios with the crew, eLDee, Sarz, K9, and Rukus get on the mic to question many well-to-do girls who seem to find ways to "magically" have what most desire,.."Na Who Dey Help Am"?
I had a good laugh listening to this skit.

P.S. - Don't get too upset ladies - look for a part 2 to address the guys coming soon...

But till then, listen and download.
