MR IDEAL NIGERIA 2014: LAGOS AUDITION TO HOLD SATURDAY 15 FEBRUARY

Having established itself as not only the biggest but the most anticipated male event in Nigeria, the Mr. Ideal Nigeria is back in its 5th season. With the theme ‘THE BUSINESS ICON‘, the event promises to be better and bigger this year. This year’s winner will start his own business, represent Nigeria at the Mister Africa International 2014 to hold in the Netherlands and also lands a year modelling contract amongst other prizes.

The runner up will represent Nigeria at the Mister Earth 2014 to be held in Guatemala. Past winners have traveled to Mexico, India, London and started different businesses from Events, Fitness to Modelling. VERVE HOSTS EXCLUSIVE SCREENING PARTY FOR AFRICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL [PICTURES]

On Sunday December 22nd, 2013 Verve International (“Verve”), Africa’s leading domestic payment card scheme, sponsor of the Africa's Next Top Model (“ANTM”) hosted by International Supermodel Oluchi Orlandi held an exclusive screening party for customers and partners to premiere a special episode dedicated to the Verve brand.

The episode centred around a challenge where the models had to shoot a photo advertisement campaign for the Verve Brand at the hands of judge and photographer Josie Borain.

At the event, Verve showcased the new ‘Verve-Like-Me’ card – a versatile multipurpose card which is personalized with the owners’ picture of choice. Fashion designer Bridget Awosika also hosted a small runway show unveiling her latest collection.

Personalities like Sound Sultan, Olisa Adibua, Dammy Krane, Dj Obi, Ayana Ajibola others were at the event. Beat FM OAP Jimmie was the host for the event.

MISS CHINA TAKES THE CROWN AS 2012 MISS WORLD | MISS NIGERIA LOSES

23 year old aspiring music teacher WenXia Yu from the People’s Republic of China won the 2012 Miss World competition which took place at the Dongsheng Fitness Center Stadium in Ordos, China today.
This year, 116 beauties from all over the world congregated in China for the competition.
Miss Wales Sophie Moulds took the first runner-up spot while Australian beauty queen Jessica Kahawaty was the second runner-up.

 Five Continental Queens of Beauty were chosen and they are South Sudan (Africa), Brazil (Americas), Asia & Pacific (China), Europe (Wales) and Caribbean (Jamaica).

 Nigeria’s representative Damiete Charles-Granville did well as she was chosen as one of the top 10 candidates in the Fashion Beauty/Beach Fashion contest. Although she was among the top ten for beach fashion contest, Nigeria representative at the miss world contest, Miss Damiete Charles Granville failed to make it to the semi final stage of the miss world contest, after losing out in several contests and test such as CHARITY WORKS, sports and modeling It is worth noting that personalities that win beauty pageants in Nigeria only win with the right connections and having the right amont of money to buy the crown; this has been repeatedly reflected in the poor performances of Nigeria at all miss world contest after the Agbani Darego victory of 2001.
