Face2face Africa the new media company with a print division and an online video and photo magazine division has exciting news to share. The company launched in the first quarter of 2011 with a mission of restoring Africa’s image within the global community and provides a platform where young Africans and friends of Africa can engage in discourses affecting the continent of Africa.

The company seeks to provide an effective platform that will prepare the future leaders of Africa who will work towards the betterment of the continent. That is why, according to Face2Face Africa, it is important that like minded organizations build strong professional relationships, working together to ensure sustainable development of Africa and Africans in the diaspora.

Face2face Africa is also proud to announce that they will be joining forces with BET International as the first African media outlet to cover the 2011 BET Awards, and will be bringing exclusive and exciting coverage of this monumental show which will be taking place LIVE on Sunday, June 26th at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California: http://face2faceafrica.com/article/face2face-africa-joins-bet-international-to-bring-you-exclusive-coverage-of-the-2011-bet-awards.

2face Idibia, Fally Ipupa, Teargas, D'banj & others nominated for the 2011 BET Awards

Nominees have been announced for the 2011 BET Awards! From Nicki to RiRi to Young B, Weezy to Breezy to Yeezy—they're all here, and more. Look at the 2011 BET Awards, all star-studded!

Watch for a glittering awards ceremony scheduled

to air live from LA on the BET cable channel on Sunday, June 26, 2011 at 8 p.m. ET. This year's award will be hosted by ace comedian Kevin Hart. The producers have left no stone unturned to make this year's award night one to remember; the best international act category as opposed to the previous years was split into two sections: one for UK and the other for Africa. Smart move by BET! Last year's result was a bit devastating because many people assumed P Square was going to win based off the vote on BET's website. This year leaves Africa a better chance to take home the award.

Check out the 2011 nominees for the BET Awards.

M.I. talks about the BET Awards

M.I. knows how to talk about it. The Nigerian rapper’s 2008 release of the same title (“Talk About It”) has already won 19 Awards, but his 2010 BET Awards nomination for Best International Act would add to that already long list of accomplishments. “This has been an amazing ride,” he says, before going on to talk about his BET nomination. “The BET Awards is an amazing experience. It’s also my first time in LA. I haven’t been to Hollywood yet, but to be here and be able to see how things are run, that has been the greatest experience,” he says.

Experience has played a role in M.I.’s music. The International rapper got his start in the business at an early age, after his mother taught him about music notations and gave him a 7-key mini piano. Since then, he’s followed his dream by turning his passion into a career. “I realized that I’ve been preparing for music my whole life and it’s been the greatest love of my life. I’m really blessed to be able to do what I love, to make a good living, to be able to travel, and I’m so grateful,” says M.I.

Though born and raised in Nigeria, M.I. spent time in the States when he attended college in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This exposure to American hip-hop has helped influence M.I.’s sound which has not only achieved commercial success, but been held to a high critical standard. “We’ve learned from this culture, and it will be sad if we don’t build bridges and connect. That being said, when you do get to meet someone [from the States], they are pretty good people and the stories are very similar to ours,” he adds.

M.I. has been fortunate enough to work with a number of talented artists from the U.S. “We’ve done all the big shows in Africa, for Jay-Z, Beyonce, Busta Rhymes, Ludacris, Rihanna, Usher. Wyclef is an artist who is in the forefront because he comes to Africa a lot,” says M.I.

For his first time at the BET Awards, M.I. is just happy to be a part of it. “I think it’s a big step for BET to include Africa in this year’s nominees.”

P Square & M.I. to rep Nigeria @ BET 2010 Awards

The nominations for the 2010 BET awards show were announced today (May 18) in a press conference in New York City by Diddy and his new group Dirty Money. Beyonce and Jay-Z lead the pack as queen and king of the 2010 BET Awards nominees. On the African front, we've got P Square and MI, K 'Naan & Kojo Antwi, hip hop pantsula repping Africa.

The 10th annual show will feature performances from Trey Songz, Nicki Minaj, Drake, and Diddy-Dirty Money, who was on hand to announce the nominations, along with Oscar nominee Queen Latifah, who will serve as host.

The 2010 BET AWARDS will air live from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 27, at 8 p.m. The full list of nominees, according to BET:
