"Malaria No More" is a nonprofit organization that aims to end death caused by malaria in Africa by 2015. Malaria No More aims to achieve this by engaging global leaders, rallying the public, delivering life-saving tools and education to families across Africa. In April 2014, Malaria No More through the Federal Ministry of Health, National Malaria Elimination Programme and its partners launched the national malaria awareness campaign; 'A Malaria-Free Nigeria: Play your part!' with the objective of reducing malaria deaths by 50% by 2015 in Nigeria.

To date, celebrities that have supported the campaign by recording life saving malaria messages include; Femi Kuti, Stephen Keshi, Mikel Obi, Victor Moses, Vincent Enyeama, Chioma Akpotha to mention but a few. Part of the campaign has a malaria anthem with Bez, Waje, Eva and Falz lending their voices with educative malaria messages in a catchy and upbeat tune.

CALLING ALL PERFORMERS! AUDU MAIKORI, BEZ, AND CHARLES NOVIA AS COACHES AT THE TARUWA FESTIVAL PERFORMANCE WORKSHOP

As part of the activities at the 2^ndedition of the Taruwa Festival of Performing Arts in Nigeria holding from June 4 – 7, 2014, there will be a 1-day Performance workshop at the festival venue, Terra Kulture, in Lagos, organized by Gbagyichild Entertainment for performers; Musicians, Spoken word Artistes, Actors, and Comedians.

The workshop will hold on Friday, June 6, 2014 with Chocolate City’s Audu Maikori, Nollywood Veteran Charles Novia, and Alternative Soul Singer, Bez as facilitators and Coaches.

The workshop will take the form of a performance event, with participants as performers for the day, and the facilitators as judges and coaches. Each participant will have an opportunity to perform individually. The aim of the workshop is to improve the craft of Nigerian performers as well create a stage for expression – some of the reasons Taruwa was set up years ago.

Taruwa Festival of Performing Arts in Nigeria is a Gbagyichild Entertainment Project.

ROCKSTAR! BEZ HEADLINES SUPER SUN CONCERT, SMASHES GUITAR AFTER PERFORMANCE

On Saturday 29th December 2012, alternative soul and rock star Bez brought down the house at his spectacular Super Sun concert. He was joined by some of Nigeria’s biggest names in music including Waje, Omawumi, Tiwa Savage, Timi Dakolo, Praiz and Seyi Shay.

The highlight of the event was when the headliner, Bez smashed his guitar rock star style to the delight of the audience. Bez’s ‘Super Sun’ album was named one of the World’s Top 10 Music Albums of 2012 by The Boston Globe. Since 2011, Bez has been on a busy international tour. Nigeria’s favourite rappers, M.I and Naeto C will make their very first Hennessy Artistry club appearance at Deuces Nightclub this Friday September 28!
 
This will be the first time both rappers will perform the Hennessy Artistry theme song to an exclusive audience since the release of the track and video in August.

ESSENCE.com's "New and Next" column spotlights the brightest new talents they think you should know. This week they met Nigerian soul singer, Bez, whose video "That Stupid Song" was the first by an African artist to premiere on BET. Who is Bez? Born into a musical family in Nigeria, Bez is a singer/songwriter currently at the helm of an emerging alternative soul movement in Africa. Armed with his guitar and playful vintage-sounding vocals, the 29-year-old manages to keep one foot firmly planted in his Nigerian roots and the other in American soul music. His feel-good single, "That Stupid Song" debuted on BET’s 106 and Park earlier this year, making it the first video by an African artist to ever premiere on the network. He also recently inked a publishing and music deal with Universal. Who he sounds like: John Legend, if he were Nigerian. We kid. But Bez does admit to being heavily influenced by Legend and neo-soul singers like Angie Stone, Erykah Badu and Corinne Bailey Rae. "I try to bring that R&B, hip hop and soul and mix it in with Africa to create an eclectic sound," he says. "I also have a similar sound to Jason Mraz, someone I'd love to collaborate with him." Though he mixes in his native Hausa language, Bez has written the majority of his debut album, Super Sun, in English. "The music I grew up listening to was mostly Western, so I wrote how I felt because most of my thinking was in English," he says. Where you'll see him next: Bez is currently working hard to cement his American presence. You can catch him performing at the Los Angeles Apple Store's Black Music Month celebration on June 30.

BEZ tours NYC | (Show times & date)

Born into a musical family with a gospel artiste father and choir member mother, Bez absorbed every bit of music around him and has been transmitting all of it through his instrument of choice, the guitar. Bez was taught to play the guitar at the age of nine by his late father, Hon. Amos Idakula.

A product of Kent Academy Jos, Bez went on to complete his secondary school education at Loyola Jesuit College in Abuja. Then he pursued a BSc in ICT at Covenant University, in Ota, Ogun State. Still nursing an undeniable passion for music in University, Bez honed his skills day by day to produce one of the most remarkable playing styles of his generation.

Since releasing his Super Sun album, BEZ has performed at several events including the annual SXSW festival in Austin, Texas. Word on the street is that Bez is in the United States and will be touring the city of New York for the next two weeks. Check out the dates and times and be sure to catch him at one of these events.
