Ibiyemi - It Would Be

Ibiyemi (Ibiyemi Ajakaiye) is a talented singer and songwriter with a rich, distinctive and soulful voice, known and loved by connoisseurs of contemporary adult urban soul for delivering
lyrics exploring the various dimensions to love. Ibiyemi, who counts Mary J. Blige, Lauryn Hill, Tracy Chapman, and the legendary Stevie
Wonder, among her musical influences, began her professional career in 2003 as a backup vocalist for more established artistes; however, the call of her artistic spirit soon led to her going it alone as a solo artiste.

On July 4, 2004, Ibiyemi gave her first major solo performance, singing the Nigerian national anthem at a ceremony organized by the United States’ mission in Nigeria to celebrate the 228th Independence ceremony of the United States. More performances followed, among them a year-long engagement in 2005 as the in-house lead vocalist at the Le’Meridien Hotel Abuja (now Nicon Luxury Hotel)—performing three nights a week before appreciative aidiiences—and also the privilege of performing the Nigerian national anthem at the May 2007 Presidential Inauguration ceremony.

Ibiyemi embarked on a career as a solo recording artiste, releasing the singles “Can You Love Me” and “Ma Se Bo Se To” on her independent “Brownestone Productions” label. Both songs proved popular with the public, with “Can You Love Me” featured on the soundtrack to the November Movies production “Caught In The Middle” (starring Nollywood icons Richard Mofe Damijo and Dakore Egbuson), and also adopted as the Theme song for the popular television soap opera “168”, which aired on television stations nationwide. Opportunities to perform alongside world acclaimed artists including Asa and Grammy award nominee Femi Kuti soon followed.

August 2010 saw the release of Ibiyemi’s debut album “Love Always Wins”. Powered by the hit first single, “Don’t Leave Me” (which was nominated for “Best Vocal Performance by a Female” at the 2010 Hip Hop World Awards, 2010 “Best R&B Song” and “Best Female Video” at the 2010 Sound City Music Awards, and “Best R&B Video” at the 2010 Nigerian Music Video, the album has enjoyed modest success in Nigeria, with success set to continue with the success of the recently-released second single “Ore”, an ode to the beautiful love found in friendship. An original soul talent, Ibiyemi is a refreshing and authentic music talent whose career trajectory bears watching as it evolves.

It Would Be - a musical composition by AbOriginal Music artiste, Ibiyemi. This one's a classic soulful duet with rising soul singer, Dipo. "It Would Be" appears on, and is the forthcoming single from Ibiyemi’s debut album Love Always Wins which is currently available on iTunes. Ibiyemi would like to offer It Would Be as a free download to all lovers of soul music just because it's her birthday.

Ibiyemi ft. Dipo - It would Be

Ibiyemi - It Would Be (Lyrics)

Ta ba fera
Baby it would be
So nice
So nice

Verse 1

I’ve been thinking, how e go be
If we could be together?
Like sailing out in the sea
Blue skies and perfect weather
I wanna go where your wind blows
Discover places that only you know
Let me take you, take you, oh baby
Take you on this journey far and wide
Let’s begin our lives tonight

Verse 2

I dream of lazy days
We dance and laugh the night away
Hours soaking up the sun
Counting the stars one by one
I can’t deny the things you do to me baby
What you do to me baby
And if you’ve got a feeling
I’ve got a feeling
Let’s try and feel it together
