Darey Art Alade just doubled our pleasure and quickened our pulse as he took to the streets of Lagos to shoot the music video for Sisi Eko Remix featuring Flavor- The first single off his yet to be titled fifth album

And of course, for the umpteenth time, Darey showed to us that with determination, anything can be achieved as he brought together, the best and brightest talents to Broad Street, Marina Lagos. The multi award winning Entertainer filmed the clip alongside Flavor, South African Director Mark Hofemeyr , musicians, comedians, actors, OAPs and some of the best dancers in town

'We did this for the Ladies again' Darey says. 'And I'm glad my friend Flavour is able to join me in the celebration of our beautiful women and the great city of Lagos- The centre of excellence'. The video focuses on Darey and Flavour’s creative attempt to woo the very beautiful and elegant Sisi Eko through the eccentric streets of down-town Lagos. The video will feature cameo appearances from Ali Baba, Jimmy JATT, Julius Agwu, Omawumi, Waje, Skales, Kaffy, Christopher Okagbue (Gulder Ultimate Search 8 winner), Tee Y Mix , Tosyn Bucknor, Mo’eazy and many others.

In July 2011, Darey took a brief time out to handle a couple of high profile gigs - hosting popular TV musical reality show, Glo Naija Sings, Gulder Ultimate Search and Amstel Malta Showtime to name a few. Then he followed up with the signing of his protégé Moeazy, as well as putting together machinery to drive his label Soul Muzik to the top.

Darey’s pedigree as a creator of good music and his professionalism makes him one of the few contemporary Nigerian artistes recognized and respected globally. He released his first UK single “The way you are remix” featuring Chamillionaire on June 19, 2011 to commercial and critical acclaim; topping the Billboard Next Big Sound.

Julius Agwu Opens Audio Studio

Popular Standup Comedian and CEO of Reel Laif Entertainment, Julius “D Genius” Agwu is at it again. The frontline entertainer who always has something creative up his sleeves has unveiled his new ultra modern audio studio.

The tastefully furnished and state of the art equipped studio located at 60, Tafawa Balewa Crescent, Off Adeniran Ogunsanya, Surulere, Lagos will be commercially open to all producers ,studio managers and all musicians for a fee in a matter of days. The stage of the art technology installed in the studio further confirmed Julius Agwu as a man of great taste. Also in the works is the building of a live studio. The live studio will be used to record Julius Agwu’s talk show which is meant to create a new television experience. The resourceful comedian Laff 4 Christ’s sake show will come up in London on April 8, 2012.

For The Love Of The Season-Pictures

For The Love Of The Season- A show put together by gospel diva ONOS was held on the 19th of February at the Grandball Room, Eko Hotel & Suites. The show was hosted by Julius 'D Genius' Agwu and there were amazing performances by Ese Peters, Eric Arubayi, Segun Obey, Waje, Timi Dakolo, Gaise and of course ONOS.

There was an amazing Whitney Houston tribute by Waje and ONOS that totally rocked the crowd. We can't forget the scarlet collection by Byge which had some celebrities on the runway (Ashionye, Yvonne Vixen, Uzor Osimkpa) and the style scenes by Kiki Kamanu. As always, Julius Agwu kept the crowd laughing their heads of with his jokes and performances.

ENCOMIUM CELEBRATES 15TH YEAR ANNIVERSARY WITH WHITE GIG

Encomium weekly, Nigeria’s foremost magazine and awards company has announced plans o celebrate its 15th anniversary with their annual revelry of thanksgiving- The White Gig!

The Lagos- based publication says they are leaving no stones unturned in celebrating 15 years of absolute excellence

“We know that absolutely nothing guarantees success than standing firm and strong, we are aware that being lucky, preserving and long suffering, being smart and hard working count for a lot. But grace, the grace of God and your karma come into play when it concerns endeavors” Kunle Bakare publisher of Encomium says.

So on Sunday March 18, 2012 at The Haven in Ikeja GRA, Lagos, the annual White Gig will not only play host to achievers from all walks of life, but also kick off a series of events marking 15 years of excitement, adventure, achievements, hard work and God’s grace. Apart from the White gig, Bakare says other gigs on the card include The Green and White Groove, The Black and White Ball and an end of the year party. We’re told a special publication to commemorate the anniversary is also in the works.

Since its debut in 2007 The White Gig has become one of the most anticipated events in Nigeria’s social calendar. With celebrities and friends clad in gorgeous all white ensembles, the atmosphere is blindingly different, and of course there is enough to eat and drink “We can’t wait to pamper our guests” Bakare says. Encomium’s White gig has hosted many stars over the years, including Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Funke Akindele, Genevieve Nnaji, Omowunmi Akinnifesi, Julius Agwu, T.W.O, Princess, Sunny Neji, Dayo Adeneye and Keke Ogungbe

Others include Alariwo, DJ Jimmy Jatt, Stephanie Okereke, Zizi Cardow, Segun Arinze and Nikki Laoye. Tagged “Take the steps, walk the Talk”, the 6-hour event will kick off with an elaborate red carpet reception. The iconic DJ Jimmy JATT will guide guests through soft, smooth and at times wild music; and guests will have an opportunity to dance and prance from 4PM to 10PM.

In its fifth year, the White Gig started when Encomium marked her 10th Anniversary in 2007.
This year’s event is supported by Kiss Events, Jatt INC, Couture Cakes, BlackHouse Media, and Replica Digital. It will take place at The Haven from 4PM to 6PM on Sunday March 18, 2012.
