KOGA UNVEILS THE NAME OF FIVE ARTISTES

KOGA entertainment recently unveiled the names of five out of the ten artistes that will perform at the Koga TOP 10 MICS concert, while keeping the identities of the remaining five artistes under wraps.

The first of its kind concert in Nigeria, TOP 10 MICS which will hold on December 23, 2011 at the Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos will be bringing on stage a blend of artistes from different genre of music like; Hip hop, Fuji, Afro Beat, Juju, Dance hall and others. Artistes already revealed to perform at the show are; 2face, MI, Obesere, Eldee and Sir Shina Peters.

Before now, a competition has been introduced online for music lovers to guess the names of the remaining five artistes that will perform at TOP 10 MIC correctly, and get a chance to win juicy prizes like Blackberries, TV’s and branded T shirts from Shakara clothing and much more. DANCE 234…DANCE REALITY SHOW LIKE NEVER BEFORE

New set of dancers are set to emerge in the Nigerian entertainment industry, as KOGA ENTERTAINMENT presents ‘DANCE 234’, a dance reality show likened to no other for young people looking to pave their ways into history by dancing for a cause and of course for fame.Dance 234 is bringing a refreshingly new dimension to the dance reality industry. For the first time in the history of dance reality show in Nigeria, the focus will not mainly be on hip hop style of dance as most reality shows are known for; DANCE234 will accommodate all forms of dance style.

According to Jemila Musa, the producer of the show, ‘this is the first time a dance reality show will be accommodating all genres of dance and according importance to them. What we are looking for are pure dancers, we want you to come just the way you are. If the style of dance you are comfortable with is hip hop, galala, fuji, highlife, traditional dance or what have you, our doors are open. As a matter of fact, we are more than willing to accommodate a new style of dance. What we want are dancers in their purest form and people who can sufficiently express themselves through dance’.

The contestants will have to convince the fierce and experienced team of judges that consist of Brandiny of ‘The Mask’ dance team, Preere Yibowei a Nigerian dance instructor and a yet-to-be disclosed foreign dance expert at auditions that will be held in Lagos, Benin, Abuja and Enugu in June. Sales of forms at N3000 start in the month of May nation-wide in all branches of Zenith Banks.

Twenty finalists from the auditions held in all four regions will be brought together in Lagos to battle it out on stage for the grand price of a car, N1 000 000 (one million naira), and a dance course abroad. First and second runner-up will get a N1 000 000 and N750 000 respectively. The lives of these twenty finalists will surely not remain the same as their skills will be brought to limelight in eviction shows that will be aired weekly on local and international TV stations.

As they settled to taste friendly small chops and an exotic chapman after the tour, guests garlanded KOGA with praise. THE UNVEILING OF KOGA STUDIOS

On Sunday, January 2, 2011, the KOGA Studios, Ikeja Lagos was a melting pot of sort for top government functionaries, high profile celebrities and entertainment buffs who came together to launch KOGA Entertainment, a new facility that will sure reshape the Nigerian Entertainment industry.

The event started with a red carpet that lasted for well over an hour and saw big names in the entertainment world like Lancelot Imasuen, Nobert and Gloria Young, Olu Maintain, Ayo Animashaun strut the red carpet. Other celebrities that graced the red carpet are Alariwo of Africa, Foluke Daramola, Oge Okoye, Elsie Oluku, the Ibru Sisters and DJ Jimmy Jatt who was the Dj for the night.
Starting the main event was a stellar performance by Shuga Band who heralds the audience into what should be expected at the event.

Right after Shuga band came Ali Baba and Chioma of STV, the comperes of the night, they mounted the stage dressed in old school attires and did a stage show which thrilled the guests. After Ali Baba and Chioma’s performance was an energetic performance by Dipo with Troopers Act who held guests spellbound with their traditional infused songs and dance.

Dipo with the Troopers Act soon gave way to the comperes, Ali Baba and Chioma who came back to do a mock news of events that happened in the 80s. The audience was also happy to see adverts from the 80s shown during the mock news.
After the mock news by the comperes, Elvina Ibru mounted the stage and performed some

songs she wrote herself. Elvina’s performance was followed by Weird MCs, whose energetic performance got guests on their feet; as she did Ijoya and her other hit songs. Coming after Weird MC was upcoming rapper, Mthrill and a runway display by models from Shakara.

Popular female rapper, Blaise came after the runway display to entertain guests with songs off

her new album. Blaise’s performance was suited by a brief tribute documentary on KOGA, shown to the pleasure of the audience. Up and coming hip hop artist Flames was next in line, he kept the momentum of the night as he performed with members of his crew who danced and sang.

It was soon time for the main reason for the night as KOGA; the total entertainment company set to reshape the entertainment

world was unveiled. Coming after the unveil of KOGA was multi award winning Nigerian music export, Tuface Idibia who was at hand to round off the event, he performed songs like True Love, For Instance, Implication and Only Me and got guests asking for more.

Speaking on KOGA, Mr. Christopher Jeyibo, the chairman of KOGA Holdings while giving his speech said ‘what we hope to achieve with KOGA is that people will no longer have to go to different places for different things, we looked out for entertainment needs and decide to give a solution to some of them.
