AJE BUTTER, DJ SOSE, LOLA MAJA, OTHERS PARTY WITH KIDS AT SPONGEBOB PRIVATE MOVIE SCREENING.

On Sunday, February 8 2015, Aje Butter, DJ Sose, Lola Maja and popular Nickelodeon character, SpongeBob SquarePants spent time with kids at the exclusive premiere of'SpongeBob The Movie: Sponge out of water'.

The screening held at the Genesis Deluxe Cinemas, Lekki, featured un activities including games, face painting as well as a photo session with SpongeBob.  Head Marketing and Communications, Viacom Africa, Colette Otusheso confirmed Nickelodeon’s interest in bringing smiles to the faces of kids and creating happy moments for families too. Also present at the screening were GM Megaletrics Limited, Deji Awokoya, OAPs, Temmy, Oscar and Titi Oyinsan among many others.

Spongebob Squaepants has won the hearts of many kids across Africa and the movie, 'Sponge out of water' is now showing at the cinemas. See exciting photos from the event.

 

NICKELODEON KIDS CHOICE AWARDS TO FEATURE NIGERIAN OAP CATEGORY THIS YEAR!

… Hollywood Superstar Mark Wahlberg Set To Host Awards In Los Angeles

This year’s edition of the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards has revealed that for the first time ever, the annual event will feature a “Favorite Nigerian On Air Personality” category at the awards.

The event, which is set to hold in Los Angeles on Saturday, March 29th will see the Nigerian category join other country-specific award categories and nominees including “Favourite South African DJ” created by the KCAs for fans around the world to vote for their favorite celebrities.

Oscar and Golden Globe nominated actor/producer Mark Wahlberg will host this year’s ultimate kid experience,Nickelodeon’s 27th Annual Kids’ Choice Awards (KCAs), airing on Nickelodeon on Wednesday 2 April.  The eminent slime-tastic night will return to USC’s Galen Center and celebrate favorites across the worlds of film, television, music and more. Wahlberg will be joined by Hollywood’s biggest stars in an unforgettable telecast where kids rule. 

“We are thrilled to welcome a superstar likeMark Wahlberg as he takes the helm as our master of ceremonies at the biggest kid event of the year,” said Russell Hicks, Nickelodeon’s President of Content Development and Production.  “We can’t wait for him to take the stage and have lots of slime-filled fun with Hollywood’s biggest stars and our audience.”

Mark Wahlberg earned both Academy Award® and Golden Globe nominations for his work in the family boxing film The Fighter and Martin Scorsese’s acclaimed drama The Departed.  Notable film credits include The Italian Job, The Other Guys and Ted. Most recently, he played Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell inLone Survivor. He will next be seen in Michael Bay’s Transformers: Age of Extinction.  Wahlberg is also an accomplished producer of films such as Lone Survivor, 2 Guns and the upcomingEntourage, as well as HBO shows Boardwalk Empire, Entourage and In Treatment.  A committed philanthropist, he started the Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation in 2001 to benefit inner city children and teens.

Last year, Nickelodeon’s 26th Annual Kids’ Choice Awards was a slime-tastic extravaganza where kids cast a record-breaking 392 million votes in 22 categories. Voting for the 2014 KCAs will span six continents across 17 localized voting sites, giving kids practically everywhere the chance to decide who takes home a coveted “blimp” trophy.

The 2014 Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards will be seen in more than 375 million households around the world and in more than 25 languages. Within hours of airing live in the United States and Canada, the show will roll out internationally, providing kids around the world the opportunity to tune into their local Nickelodeon channel to enjoy the show faster than ever.

KATY PERRY, SELENA GOMEZ, JUSTIN BIEBER, KRISTEN STEWART, SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS, OTHERS WIN BIG AT NICKELODEON'S 26th ANNUAL KIDS' CHOICE AWARDS



 Mega-stars including Katy PerryJohnny DeppOne DirectionSelena GomezDwayne Johnson and Kristen Stewart reigned as this year’s favourites, winning top honours at Nickelodeon’s 26th Annual Kids’ Choice Awards on Saturday 23 March. Hosted by the biggest kid in Hollywood, Josh Duhamel, the awards were broadcast from the Galen Center at USC in Los Angeles where kids honoured their favourites from the worlds of film, music, sports and television.  This year, a record-breaking 387 million votes were cast around the world in 22 categories.

 
In the spirit of the star-studded slimefest, Duhamel kicked off the celebration by singing a special Kids’ Choice Awards version of Pitbull’s smash hit “Don't Stop the Party”, as he made his way from the dressing room to the main stage.  Experiencing a series of random celebrity encounters along the way, Duhamel thumb wrestled with Mike “The Miz” Mizanin, was tackled by Jerry Trainor dressed as a yeti, wore the same dress as Fergie, scatted withSteven Tyler and played an elaborate game of rock-paper-scissors with Megan Fox, only to be transformed into Pitbull himself as he reached the stage. 

For the first time ever, a special camera gave the fans a 360-degree view of all the action on stage.  Also a first for the messfest, Nickelodeon debuted the “Kids’ Choice Mustache Cam”, a take on the popular “kissing cam”, which featured kids and celebs including Miranda CosgroveDebby Ryan andBridgit Mendler wearing fake funny mustaches, with Duhamel singling out Judd Apatow for having the best real mustache. In a display of his athletic prowess, Duhamel hit the stage wearing Dwight Howard's LA Lakers uniform and challenged Howard to a "Slime Dunk" contest with the winner,Howard, getting a face full of the green goo.  With the wave of a magic wand, Sandra Bullock and Neil Patrick Harris attempted to create a slime-free zone, but their plan backfired and the two were honoured with a dual sliming at the presenters podium.  Duhamel teamed up with Nick Cannon for the Tandem Buttkicking Zipline Sumo Spectacular in a slime-tastic finale thanks to blimp recipient Dwayne Johnson, but Josh Hutcherson and Amanda Seyfried took the prize for the most epic sliming on the show.                                 

In their first-ever live performances at the KCAs, multi-talented global superstars Pitbull, Grammy Award-winning vocalist Christina Aguilera, and Ke$haignited the stage.  In addition to “Don’t Stop the Party”, Pitbull performed his explosive hit “Feel This Moment” with Aguilera and a crew of mini lookalike dancers, and found himself drenched by a massive slime fountain at the end of the song.  Ke$ha rocked the stage amid bubbles, confetti and disco balls, with a medley of “We R Who We R” and her new single “C’Mon”.  Not to be outdone, Duhamel, decked out in a milkshake costume, got his groove on with the kids in the audience during a special “Kids’ Choice Shake” dance stunt.

Orange blimps were presented to Johnny Depp for Favourite Movie Actor; Kristen Stewart for Favourite Movie Actress and Favourite Female Buttkicker;The Hunger Games for Favourite Movie and Wreck-It Ralph for Favourite Animated Movie. Dwayne Johnson won top honours for Favourite Male Buttkicker and Adam Sandler took home the blimp for Favourite Voice from an Animated Movie for his role of Dracula in Hotel Transylvania.  In the television categories, Favourite TV Show went to Victorious; Favourite Reality Show to Wipeout; Favourite Cartoon to SpongeBob SquarePants; Favourite TV Actor to Ross Lynch and Favourite TV Actress to Selena 

Gomez.  In music, top honours went to Katy Perry for Favourite Female Singer; Justin Bieberfor Favourite Male Singer and One Direction nabbed Favourite Music Group and Favourite Song.  Most valuable players LeBron James and Danica Patrick won for Favourite Male Athlete and Favourite Female Athlete, respectively.  The Hunger Games series garnered Favourite Book; Temple Run won Favourite App and Just Dance 4 won for Favourite Videogame.

The star-studded telecast featured additional celebrity participants, including: Steve CarellKristen WiigJaden SmithLucy HaleKaley Cuoco,Darren CrissBig Time Rush, Cory MonteithJennette McCurdyAriana GrandeSofia Grace and RosieGabby DouglasZachary Gordon, Jessica Alba, Kevin Hart, Ashley TisdaleLucas CruikshankScott Baio and the cast of See Dad RunRico Rodriguez and many others.

In their first-ever performances at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards,multi-talented global superstars Pitbullfeaturing Grammy Award-winning superstar vocalist Christina Aguileraand Ke$ha will ignite the stage on Saturday 23 March.  Pitbull remains unstoppable as he is set to perform his explosive hit “Feel This Moment”, featuring Aguilera, while Ke$ha will captivate the kids with her Billboard Top 10 smash “C’Mon”.

Taking place at the USC’s Galen Center, the 2013 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards premieres onNickelodeon (DStv Channel 305) on Wednesday 27 March 2013 at 17:45 CAT (repeats: Friday 29 March at 20:15 CAT; Sunday 31 March at 12:05 CAT).

Pitbull and Ke$ha join previously announced host Josh Duhamel at the 26th annual event where kids rule and honour their favourites from the worlds of film, music sports and television.  Kids can cast their votes until March 23 in 22 total categories across all of Nickelodeon’s digital outlets, including www.nickelodeonafrica.com.

“Can’t wait to play the Kids’ Choice Awards for the first time,” said Pitbull. “Looking forward to seeing fans witness the first performance of ‘Feel This Moment’ with Christina Aguilera. It’s gonna be fun, DALE!!!”

AFRICAN KIDS GET INVOLVED IN NICKELODEON’S 25TH ANNUAL KIDS’ CHOICE AWARDS!

Lagos Nigeria, Nickelodeon announced today the nominees for the milestone 25th Annual Kids’ Choice Awards (KCA), helmed by international superstar Will Smith and taking place in Los Angeles' Galen Center on Saturday, 31 March 2012. The show premieres on Nickelodeon (DStv Channel 305) on 3rd April at 18:00 CAT.

A star-studded line-up will be vying for the coveted Kids’ Choice Blimps at this year’s show, as kids honour their favourites spanning the worlds of film, music, TV and sports, including Jessica Alba, Antonio Banderas, Justin Bieber, Big Time Rush, Jack Black, Ty Burrell, Jim Carrey, Miranda Cosgrove, Tom Cruise, Johnny Depp, Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez, Victoria Justice, Bruno Mars, Taylor Lautner, Danica Patrick, Katy Perry, Michael Phelps, LMFAO, Taylor Swift, Daniel Radcliffe, Sophia Vergara, Adam Sandler and Kristen Stewart.

Beginning March 1, kids will be able to cast their votes in 20 total categories across all of Nickelodeon’s digital outlets, including www.2012KCA.com as well as Nickelodeon’s Facebook page and Twitter feed. For the first time ever, kids in Africa can cast their votes for their favourites by logging on to www.2012KCA.com!

Wizards, Smurfs and a martial arts panda dominated the movie categories, with the Harry Potter franchise conjuring up top nods with four nominations for Favourite Movie, Favourite Book (the Harry Potter series), Daniel Radcliffe for Favourite Movie Actor and Emma Watson for Favourite Movie Actress. The Smurfs nabbed three nominations, including Favourite Movie, Sofia Vergara for Favourite Movie Actress and Katy Perry for Favourite Voice in an Animated Movie. The mega-hit Kung Fu Panda franchise ate up nominations for Favourite Movie, Favourite Cartoon and Jack Black for Favourite Voice in an Animated Movie.

This year’s dual nods include The Muppets for Favourite Movie and Amy Adams for Favourite Movie Actress and the Twilight franchise for Favourite Book (the Twilight series) and Kristen Stewart for Favourite Movie Actress. In the music categories, international superstars LMFAO, Katy Perry and Taylor Swift go head-to-head, all receiving two nods for Favourite Group/Female Singer and Favourite Song.

In television, the stars of Nickelodeon’s hit comedy iCarly - Jennette McCurdy, Nathan Kress and Jerry Trainor - duke it out as they dominate the Funniest TV Sidekick category. Additionally, American Idol grabs its eighth nomination for Favourite Reality Show up against returning contenders, America’s Funniest Home Videos, America’s Got Talent and Wipeout.
