FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 22 YEARS, OMONI OBOLI TAKES NOLLYWOOD TO BUSAN INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL (BIFF), SOUTH KOREA WITH ‘OKAFOR’S LAW’

Nollywood filmmaker and actress, Omoni Oboli will be taking Nollywood across many boarders as she showcases her movie “Okafor’s Law’ at the Busan International Film Festival BIFF, South Korea.

This feat is definitely one to be celebrated as this has never happened before in the 22 years of holding the Busan International Film Festival making Omoni Oboli the first Nigerian filmmaker and ‘Okafor’s Law’ the first ever Nigerian movie to be selected and screened at this prestigious Film Festival. The Festival is said to hold from October 12th through October 21st, 2017.

The movie, which had an exceptional and a good outing at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), Stockholm Film Festival and Pan African Film Festival will be screening on Tuesday 17th October (10am), Wednesday 18th October(7:30pm) and Friday 20th (8pm).

Nollywood actress and producer, Omoni Oboli, is euphoric about the success of her movie following the challenges she was faced with as regards to being taken to court on the basis of copyright theft. Omoni Oboli who came out victorious has this to say about this new and incredible success; What the devil meant for bad, God has turned it around for my good! I can't begin to tell you how much God has blessed me with #OkaforsLaw! I am pleased to finally announce to you that by the grace of God, my movie #OkaforsLaw will be flying the Nigerian flag at the 22nd Busan International Film Festival BIFF @busanfilmfest in far away South Korea.

It's the first Nigerian movie in the 22 years of this prestigious film festival. The bigger miracle is that I didn't even submit my movie. Someone sent word about it to them; they wrote and requested a screening copy! So please my darlings, if you find yourself in that region, please go and support us by watching our movie screening on the 17th 10am, 18th 7:30pm, 20th 8pm.
May God bless us all and may our gifts bring us before great men
.”

Set in Nigeria, the film follows a myth that says that if a man sleeps with a woman once he can always bed her again irrespective of new developments like marriage, new boyfriend or break up. It brings this true by telling the story of Chucks (Blossom Chukwujekwu) nicknamed by his friends as the Terminator, an ardent player with ladies, whose quest to proving this law to his friends brings him three woman he must re-seduce: Ify (Ufuoma McDermott), Tomi (Toyin Abraham) and Ejiro (Omoni Oboli), whose lives have drastically changed.
