2FACE IDIBIA's MILLION VOICES FOR PEACE (MVP) PRESENTS "BREAK THE SILENCE"

In a timely response to the global call for the release of the abducted Chibok girls and the restoration of peace in Nigeria, galaxy of stars under the umbrella of 2face Idibia's Million Voices for Peace (MVP) project have recorded a song to articulate their call for peace and unity and raise funds to support the work of the Nigerian Red Cross.

MVP on this song features 2face Idibia, Precision Productions (Trinidad  Tobago), Samini (Ghana), K-Slim, PKD, Squadee (Ghana), Spyke, Sound Sultan, Essence, Righteousman, Jo El, Ferre Galo (DRC) and Machel Montano (Trinidad & Tobago).

Idibia, speaking from France stated thus: "The call for the safe return of the Chibok Girls and real work towards peace building must be sustained. This is just another step in the journey towards the promotion of peace and unity in our nation and the world."

According to Efe Omorogbe of Now Muzik/Hypertek Digital/960 MG, coordinator of the project, this is coming at a very crucial time when the reality of the situation has hit everyone really hard. This wonderful group of patriots, supported by their brothers from the sub continent and the Caribbean have done one better than tweet and shout. We believe the message will reach the people and that proceeds from sale will help the work of the Red Cross. We also intend to help mobilize volunteers to turn up and assist the Red Cross and NEMA in their humanitarian efforts.

The Artistes featured on the project are:
Machel Montana: He is the front man of the popular Soca band, The HD Family. During his career, which spans over 30 years, he has recorded several songs alongside many of Caribbean music's most popular acts, such as Alison Hind, Beenie Man, Calypso Rose, Burning Flames, Wyclef Jean, Canibus, Red Rat, Shaggy, Vybz Kartel, Buju Banton, Mr. Vegas, Doug-E-Fresh, Pitbull, and Busta Rhymes to name a few. He is arguably the biggest Soca artiste in the Caribbean.

PRECISION PRODUCTION: Precision Productions established and run by Kasey Phillips and Nikholai Greene, Trinidadian born production duo.

KASEY PHILIPS: Kasey "KC" Phillips is the son of legendary producer, guitarist and engineer Mr. Kenny Phillips of Trinidad and Tobago has been producing & engineering since the age of 12 years after practically growing up and living in his Dad's music studio from infancy. He currently works with most of the top Soca artistes of Trinidad & Tobago, producing, mixing, mastering & engineering.

SAMINI: formerly known as Batman Samini, is a multi-award winning Ghanaian Dancehall artiste. He has performed alongside international artistes like Sean Paul, Akon, Kevin Little, Shaggy, Wayne Wonder, Jay Z, Damien Marley, Bennie Man, and Chaka Demus & Pliers.

SQUADEE: Squadee is a Afro/Hip-Hop group based in New Jersey.. The group consists of four members SkiDazzit, Jimmy Dorgan, Mike Kensah, & Austino. Team SQ is on the quest to becoming the first African group to have members from different countries coming together to deliver a unique sound fusing the Nigerian and Ghanaian music flavors into one.

NAETO C: Multi-award winning rapper, song-writer, and producer. His career has spanned over 8 years professionally and he has 2 albums to his credit. He is currently signed to his own imprint White Kaftan Gang.

SOUND SULTAN: One of the Pioneers of Urban Nigerian Music, his career in show business started professionally in the 90’s. He started hosting shows in order to raise money for studio sessions. The most prominent show he emceed was a talent show that discovered the likes of P-Square and Mr. Raw Nwanne. Since then, he has gone on to release 6 albums, all to critical acclaim and he is a known associate of Haitian emcee, Wyclef.

Essence: A gifted singer whose career has spanned over a decade and is signed to one of Nigeria’s biggest urban record label, Kennis Music.

Righteousman: A music veteran whose career in music has spanned is a music artist whose genre of expression tends towards reggae. He is signed to Tongues of Unity Entertainment Company

Jo El:

PKD: One part of the quartet that make up Loose Kollective, PKD is a gifted emcee who also moonlights as a writer. Loose Kollective is managed by Now Muzik.

K SLIM: A young talented singer signed to Now Muzik Recordings. He was the winner of a talent search competition put together by Tony One Week in conjunction with Now Muzik.

SPYKE: Now Muzik Recordings’ in-house producer who is also a singer/songwriter.

2FACE: Multi-award winning singer/songwriter. Africa’s biggest urban music export.

BBC AMBASSADOR VOCAL SLENDER TEAMED UP WITH SOUNDSULTAN TO PREMIERE “GHETTO RED HOT”

Ajegunle born Vocal Slender (Real name: Eric Obuh) was a scavenger at the Ojota refuse dump site for 10 years from 2000 to 2009 before the British Broadcasting Corporation(BBC) did a Lagos hustling documentary titled "WELCOME TO LAGOS' where he was the main character in the first series.

Vocal Slender had a double identity: Ascavenger by day and anAfropop/Dancehall musician by night. He worked endlessly picking and selling scraps so he could fund his dream of becoming an international superstar and finally all his hard work has paid off.

He is now an inspirational/motivational speaker where he spreads his message of HOPE to his various audiences (schools, corporate organizations and the public at large).

SHOWSTOPPER! ICE PRINCE, SOUND SULTAN, DR. SID ROCK LOUD 'N' PROUD 2ND ANNIVERSARY

Superstar rapper, Ice Prince ended the month on a high note as he thrilled fans to a two-hour performance at the Intercontinental Hotel, Lagos.

The award winning rapper headlined the second anniversary of the monthly musical series, LoudNProud and performed hit songs from his Fire of Zamani album with a live band.

Ice Prince was also joined on stage by Sound Sultan and Dr SID who he performed duets like 'Pray' and 'Dr Lover' with. Other performances for the night were Enzo, Yung L, Endia and Yung Gracey.

The event was attended by a tonne of Industry personalities such as Emma Nyra, Moet Abebe, DJ Lambo, Loose Kaynon, Omalicha, Adams , Ehiz Okoeguale amongst others. 

His fellow labelmates DJ Caise, Victoria Kimani and Pryse were at the event to lend their support to Ice.

Star Music Trek 2013 kicks off in Lagos with Psquare, M.I, Ice Prince, Sound Sultan, KCee, Others

Apparently, the Lagos leg of Star Music Trek 2013 promises to be a blast as superstar entertainers Psquare, M.I, Ice Prince, Sound Sultan, and KC will open up the 1^st phase of the annual concert in front of thousands of eager fans.

This Saturday’s concert will officially kick off the highly anticipated yearly music tour.

Thousands of music fans will gather at Jite Open Field, Road 21, Festac, Lagos on June 8, 2013 for a night of blazing music and electrifying performances.

Other artistes expected to perform at the event include popular hip-hop artiste, Kas and Crystals, winners of Star Quest 2012, Nigerian Breweries premier reality show.

“I’m way too excited to say much right now, but this I can promise: music fans are in for an amazing time with me and other incredible artistes in Lagos on June 8^th at Star Music Trek 2013.” M.I assures.

“PSquare promises to rock this concert like never before….fans should come expecting only the best- they won’t be disappointed, the exciting pop duo’s manager, Jude Okoye assures.”

The 2013 line up of artistes were revealed in an exclusive press conference  which held at Rhapsody’s Lounge, Victoria Island, Lagos on May 22 2013.

Star Music Trek will still happen in nine other cities including Aba, Abeokuta, Agege (-Lagos), Asaba, Enugu, Lokoja, Nnewi, Owerri, and Onikan V.I (Lagos).

Other superstars to perform at this year’s edition of the pan Nigerian concert include 2face, D’banj, Timaya, Wande Coal, Obesere, Mr Raw, Dr Sid, JMartins, Naeto C, Tiwa Savage, Sheyi Shey, Phyno, Olamide, Juke Box, Da Beatz and Crystals.

The compere for the event is Gbenga Adeyinka, one of Nigeria’s favorite comedians and a compere of repute.

The Star Music Trek tour will run for 10 weeks, in 10 cities, culminating in a grand finale at Onikan Stadium, in Lagos on August 10 2013.

Lami, 2Face and Sound Sultan Put Out Single To Raise The Alarm on African Food Security Crisis

UN Envoy Lami, UN Ambassador of Peace Sound Sultan and Africa’s finest 2Face have collaborated to put out the single Act 4 Africa. The trio were recently appointed Oxfam spokespersons to call on Africans across the continent to action to ensure that the famine experienced in the Horn of Africa recently is the last famine Africa experiences.

As a precursor to a series of public events to raise awareness with Africans everywhere on the importance of addressing Africa's food security crisis, they have pooled together their communal influence on a song – Act4Africa – which they hope will serve as a call to action.

The initiative is part of Oxfam’s global campaign that aims to empower men and women living in poverty to claim power in the way the world manages land, water and climate change, so that they can grow or buy enough food to eat – now and in the future. In Nigeria the GROW campaign is implemented under the auspices of Voices for Food Security (VFS)—a platform of 15 Nigerian Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and small-scale farmers associations across the country.

Currently 13 million people in the Sahel region are faced with a serious food crisis that threatens their lives and livelihoods. If early and effective action is not taken, it may prove as devastating and costly as past regional food crises in 2005, 2008 and 2010.

About the Game

The event kicked off at 7:45pm after the red carpet session. Everyone was seated and the first game was with the DJ's and The Ladies. The beauty of the ladies was all over the basket ball court and it didn't stop the male team from winning the game. The second players were Team Donjazzy vs Storm all star . Storm all stars won the game courtesy of Deejay Neptune 3 point throw.

The third game was with Dodan warriors and Team celebrities. The game started off well but players were losing their points after the first round the game got tougher and players in each team had their game on. At the end of the game, Dodan warriors had 12 points and team celebrities had 7 points.It was an interesting game.
