SAM ADEYEMI, OBY EZEKWESILI, ABIKE DABIRI, TAIWO ODUKOYA, MAI ATAFO,TOOLZ, OTHERS CELEBRATE CHUDE JIDEONWO AT 30!

Media entrepreneur and Managing Partner of Red Media Africa, Chude Jideonwo celebrated his 30th birthday on Monday 16 March, 2015 with a thanksgiving service. The event held at Terra Kulture in Lagos, Nigeria.

Family, friends and colleagues who gathered at the ceremony to celebrate with him were; Pastor Sam Adeyemi, Dr. Obiageli Ezekwesili, Pastor Wale Adenuga, Hon. Abike Dabiri, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, represented by his son Jimi Odukoya, Osayi Alile, Pastor Ngozi Jideonwo (Chude's mother) Mo Abudu, Tara Fela-Durotoye, Mfon Ekpo, Adebola Williams, Tolu Ogunlesi, Noble Igwe, Toolz, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Mai Atafo, Makida Moka, Latasha Ngwube, Kemi Lala Akindoju, Funke Bucknor-Obruthe, Seun Onigbinde, Bolanle Austen Peters, Eben, TosinMartins, Tosin Ajibade, Somkele Iyamah, Pastor Godman Akinlabi, NkiruOlumide Ojo, Ayo Sogunro, Akintunde Oyebode, Denola Grey, Zina Anumudu, Isoken Ogiemwonyi, Mosunmola Umoru, Jideonwo's uncle and aunt, Henrietta Olih and Medua Jideonwo, and a host of others.

The celebrant acknowledged the impact of his children's choir teacher when he was 6, Aunty Aisha before bringing her on stage: “Aunty Aisha played an important role in my life in validating me at a time when I was trying to build confidence: she made my life colourful andbeautiful, she taught me to believe in myself and that there is nothing I can't achieve and that's why I had to bring her in from London today."

Pastor Sam Adeyemi, who is one of the celebrant’s mentor said “With everything I have witnessed here today, it is clear that God’s calling is upon Chude’s life because God calls people to function in different offices’.

Former World Bank VP Obiageli Ezekwesili also spoke. “I am so delighted to celebrate Chude, 'I refer to Chude as one of the children I carried in the womb of my heart," she said, at what became a very emotional evening. "As we can see, from the words of my sister (Chude's mother), parenting is the foundation of greatness, Chude’s life is defined by what his parents did, which does not happen accidentally."

Chude also invited the founder of the Hearts of Gold Hospice, Laja Adedoyin, which is his adopted charity he had not spoken about until now. "We began to get this donation from his account, but I kept looking for who it was," Adedoyin, who takes care of children with terminal illnesses, said. "Until one day I found him, and we are very grateful to him. We are grateful to those like Governor Fashola, who I call the father of my kids - for taking us from a 2-bedroom bungalow to a massive building in Onilegogoro."

Chude also pleaded with the audience to donate on a sustained basis to the charity, to enable it's crucial work.

Pastor Wale Adenuga and Nathaniel Bassey performed singing worship songs while Eben closed the thanksgiving ceremony with more praise.

VECTOR THA VIPER DROPS NEW SINGLE“SHI​GA” FEATURING TOOLZ [LISTEN]

Less than a week of the release of his song “Redefined”, Nigerian rapper Vector tha viper has dropped yet another song titled “Shiga”.

The song “Shiga” is rich with strong vocals by Waje. It is a bonus track of the mixtape album titled #A7 project, which has a tracklist of 13 songs. “Shiga is a song dedicated to ladies because it centres on the beauty of a woman” says Vector.  “Featuring Toolz and Waje in this song is my way of appreciating the beautiful African women” he continued.

The afro-dance song is produced by Ekelly and released under a new management, GidiGroove Media.

Nickelodeon 2014 Kids Choice Awards will air on Nickelodeon (DStv Channel 305) on Sunday, 2 April 2014 at 3PM.

“The Hunger Games” franchise, which received four nominations for Favourite Movie, Favourite Book, and Jennifer Lawrence for Favourite Movie Actress and Favourite Female Buttkicker.  Iron Man 3 is right behind with three nominations for Favourite Movie and Robert Downey, Jr. for Favourite Movie Actor and Favourite Male Buttkicker. The Smurfs 2 also nabbed three nominations for Favourite Movie, Favourite Movie Actor (Neil Patrick Harris) and Favourite Movie Actress (Jayma Mays).

In television, Sam & Cat stars Jennette McCurdy and Ariana Grande, Bridgit Medler (Good Luck Charlie) and Debby Ryan (Jessie) will compete for Favourite TV Actress, with their respective shows Sam & Cat, Good Luck Charlie, Jessie, along with The Big Bang Theory rounding out the Favourite TV Show nominees. First-time nominees Benjamin Flores, Jr. (The Haunted Hathaways) and Jack Griffo (The Thundermans) will face off against last year’s KCA winner for Favourite TV Actor, Ross Lynch (Austin & Ally), and 2012 winner, Jake Short (A.N.T. Brilliant news for Naija music lovers who want an inside track on what’s hip and happening on the scene. Music authority MTV Base is to launch the first definitive chart of Nigerian contemporary music.  The Official Naija Top 10, produced by MTV Base, is a weekly music chart countdown that will air on MTV Base, STV,NTA and AIT from 8 March 2013.

According to MTV Base’s Tim Horwood, “The Official Naija Top 10 has been specially created by MTV Base in conjunction with an elite panel of Nigerian broadcasters, music specialists and tastemakers including DJ Jimmy Jatt, Cool FM’s DJ Xclusive, DJ Humility and Big Time (Rhythm FM), DJ Case and Toolz (The Beat FM) and Osagie Alonge (The NET NG).”  Continues Horwood, “The Official Naija Top 10 will be based on a wide range of sources, including radio airplay, digital downloads and industry insights, and is designed to play a similar role to the Billboard charts in the USA.”

AN EVENING OF GLITZ AND GLAMOUR - FUTURE AWARDS [PORT HARCOURT]

The Season 7 of Nigeria’s premier youth awards event, The Future Awards, held on the 26th of August 2012 in the Garden City of Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital. Although this was the first time that the awards event was taken outside of Lagos, it wasn’t a disadvantage in any way, as the organisers (The Future Project) and the host (Government of Rivers State) put together an unforgettable show. The Future Awards which was tagged “Tear Down these Walls”, brought together very important personalities including former World Bank Vice President, Obiageli Ezekwesili, Rivers State Deputy Governor, Tele Ikuru, Commissioner for Information, Ibim Seminatari, Commissioner for Agriculture, Emmanuel Chinda, Chairman of Heirs Holdings, Tony Elumelu, and many others.

August 25th
6am: Nominees and other guests from Lagos began to troop into the Murtala Mohammed Airport Lagos for their flight to Port Harcourt.

10.30am: First set of out-of-state guests for The Future Awards arrived at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa. Guests, who attended The Future Awards, came in from more than ten states of the federation.

6pm: Nominees and other guests were hosted in a brief cocktail event by the Deputy Governor of Rivers, Engr. Tele Ikuru, at the Rivers State Government House. Also present at that ceremony were commissioners in the state’s executive council, as well as other top government functionaries. Engr. Ikuru, who was representing the state’s governor, Rt. Hon Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, who was out of the country, welcomed all the guests, especially the nominees, and expressed excitement at hosting the future of the country in Rivers State.

August 26th:
8am: Out-of-state guests were taken on a tour of Rivers State by a high level executive team led by the gracious Commissioner of Information, Ibim Seminatari; the Commissioner of Power, Augustine Nwokocha; Commissioner of Agriculture, Emmanuel Chinda; Chief Executive in charge of the State’s Primary Health care centres, Dr. (Mrs) Claribel Abam, and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education.

The tour which lasted for up to six hours saw the nominees visit the Rivers State Dental and Maxillofacial Clinic; State school, Elekahia; Primary Health Centre, Elekahia and Model Secondary School, Eleme. Participants were wowed by the facilities and the world class standards to which the governor aspired in providing them. The tour also took participants to the Songhai Farm, the Afam Power plant, and Banana plantation in Tai (a PPP with a Mexican firm.)

4pm: Keynote address by the Chairman of Heirs Holding and one of Africa’s most influential entrepreneurs, Mr. Tony O. Elumelu MFR, at The Atrium, Stadium Road, Port Harcourt. Elumelu spoke on the topic, “Tear down these walls.” The former UBA boss listed sacrifice, hardwork, and tenacity as the necessities for entrepreneurial success. He also revealed during his speech that he plans to begin an hour long mentoring session on twitter once in every month.

8:30pm: The Future Awards event kicked off at Aztech Arcun Events Centre on Stadium Road, Port Harcourt. It was an unforgettable evening of glamour, beauty, and celebration of excellence. Guests walked the green carpet with aplomb. The show was hosted by Tinsel Star, Gideon Okeke and top female musician, Waje. Present at the occasion were Big Brother Star, Uti Nwachukwu, Channel O VJ, Denrele Edun, Host of Nigerian Idol, Ill Rymz, and his Project Fame counterpart, Adaora Oleh. Also present were top blogger Linda Ikeji, OC Ukeje, Toolz, Andre Blaze, Chidinma, Ruby, Tosin Martins, and many more.

Entertainers who thrilled guests on the night include Timi Dakolo, Bez, Muma-Gee, Dan the Humorous, and Denrele. Timi Dakolo also premiered his latest video “Great Nation” at the event.

The big winner for the night was Idris Akinbajo, the investigative journalist and multiple award winner, who beat other strong contenders like Psquare, Banky W, Raheem Bello, D’banj, Linda Ikeji, Jason Njoku, and Chinwe Njoku to emerge as The Future Awards Young Person of the Year 2012. The Young Person of the Year Award is the most coveted of all the awards given on any TFA night.

Other winners include Tonto Dikeh (Actor of the Year), Babafemi Oyediran (Best Use of Advocacy), Gidi Traffic (Best Use of New Media), Bayo Omoboriowo (Creative Artiste of the year), and Toju Foyeh (Designer of the Year).

As always, it's the most anticipated list this year! THE FUTURE AWARDS,
described by the World Bank as "The Nobel Prize for Young Africans",
after unveiling its spectacular Young Person of the Year nominees
earlier this week, has now released the full Nominees List for all 21
categories.

Voting begins immediately! The voting numbers are 33120 (All networks)
for Nigeria, and 1523 (Expresso & MTN), 1910 (Airtel) for Ghana. You can
also vote on www.ynaija.com/thefutureawards [1]. According to the organisers,
voting takes only 50% of the second stage of judging, so winners are not
selected by voting popularity - there is a 4-stage judging process
involving a Board of Judges and an Independent Audit Committee. There is
also a one-week period for members of the public to make complaints
about any of the nominees to the awards Central Working Committee (CWC).

kinds of young people you don't always hear about, which is the essence
of The Future Awards and we are as always, incredibly proud of the
