AFRICAN COMEDY SHOW UK - AFRICA - USA
‘African Comedy’ - the only African Comedy monthly show hosted in the UK, USA and AFRICA by E & C Entertainment is based on bringing comedy entertainment to professional Africans in the UK - USA and AFRICA.
The show comprises of both UK based comedians and African comedians and is hosted on a monthly basis by David Balogun..(well known as Mr. Nigeria / Mr Africa), the founder of E&C entertainment. His aim for starting this monthly show is to have a social and networking environment where young African professionals can come and sit after a hard days work to laugh and relieve stress through comedy.
The idea is to endear them to Africa and the feeling of ‘home’. The vision for the events is also to enable UK based African's to recognize and appreciate their cultural heritage whist acknowledging their achievements in the UK. The last show which was hosted at the Kesington town hall (High street kesington / Chealsea) London UK, was one of the classiest African events in the UK and featured One of Africa’s Finest comedians ‘Basket Mouth’ as the main act with other acts such, Okay Bakassi, Tee A, I Go Die, Gandoki etc. The show was a resounding success with more than 1,500 African professionals in attendance and many reviews and feedback from attendees requesting for another show.
When asked why he started this show he explains that African comedy has long been an establishment that has been under-represented in the mainstream comedic circuit even with the very talented comedians we have. With over 10 million African's in the UK, E&C Entertainment has recognized the gap in this niche market and is determined to bridge this gap. E & C entertainment also aims to build a strong networking environment where professional African's can come and socialize with people in similar fields and areas of profession. The audiences for the African comedy show ranges from doctors, teachers, entrepreneurs, lawyers, fashion insiders, advertising executives, actors, sales professionals, writers, Investment bankers and other professionals. David explains that there can be a lot of stress for people living and working in the UK and he intends to help alienate that stress through comedy. When asked why he is called 'Mr Nigeria' he explains that "He is so much in love with where Nigeria / Africa is going with entertainment that he feels he is married to her". The comedy show also intends on drawing UK born African"s to a taste of African talent.
In December African comedy is being brought back home to Africa (Ghana / Nigeria / South Africa and other African countries and will also be hosting a dinner ball and awards show for young African achievers and entrepreneurs.
It also intends on promoting tourism especially to the UK born African's who have never been back home, to encourage them to come and have a taste of the positive side of Africa.
The African comedy show is extending an invitation to African's and friends of Africa to come and tour parts of Africa in December with the comedy show.
