IGHO was born and raised in Lagos 0n 28th of September. He grew up and had his education in Lagos and the United Kingdom. At the age of 17 the son of NTA’s Director General Peter Igho, founded a group called “Immaculate” which consisted of six members and went on to produce their hit song “Roc da party”. He also directed the music video for the song which was the first Nigerian music video to get constant airplay on channel O.Three years later he went on to study at AFDA, a well renowned film school in south Africa, there he got a record deal with Sony BMG as a member of the hip hop group “Da Pyramid” where he produced the “Song never be the same” which held the number one spot on “south Africa metro fm for 6 weeks” a record at the time.
He received nomination for his own video- 9ja boy as best newcomer (channel o awards) 2008. Igho finally returned home early this year, like his counterparts in the industry, to come contribute his own quota professionally to the Nigerian entertainment industry. He claims title to producing a track called “Verbal massacre” produced for Dj khalid on his recent “We be the best” album.
IGHO grew up around lights and cameras because of his father’s occupation at the time which explains where his visual interest was gotten from. He has worked with Sony BMG, South Africa as music producer, recording two albums.The multi talented IGHO has also directed award winning videos for; Faze: Kpokpodipo, Loving you everyday and his recent video Originality, Mohit Allstars:Booty call, Close to you Durella: Enu ose, Bracket: Yori yori, Sammie Okposo: many things and more.
His debut album 9ja Boy was released recently in October ’09. The eighteen tracks strong album boasts of collaborations from the likes of; Terry G ,Mode 9, Faze, Chuddy K, New comer Orezi,Kemistry and his father , Peter Igho.The multitalented Igho’s perspective on life is to “empty yourself till you exit the surface of the earth”. He says he’s a good cinematographer as much he is a rapper and music producer.
