A trio of Africa’s young and most gifted television stars have been named as hosts of the upcoming 2009 Channel O Music Video Awards, brought to you by Amarula Cream.
Nonhle, Lungile and KB will be keeping the music, entertainment and awards flowing come 29 October when the awards take place during a glittering ceremony at Carnival City in Gauteng attended by the who’s who of the African entertainment scene.
All three have long been identified with Channel O, having hosted many of the channel’s key programmes over the years and being an integral part of ushering in the identity of the defiantly Afro-centric channel.
Lungile and KB are currently among the presenters of Channel O’s spanking new ‘Young, Gifted and African’ show which airs Mondays to Thursdays at 18:30 while former Channel O VJ, Nonhle has been successfully catapulted onto new youth channel Vuzu where she co-hosts the daily V Entertainment show.
Together KB, Lungile and Nonhle bring a formidable array of talent and knowledge and just plain brilliance to what is fast shaping up to be the best Channel O Music Video Awards ever.
The 2009 awards take their inspiration from Channel O’s very successful Young, Gifted and Black campaign which has recently snapped up 20 nominations in the upcoming Loerie Awards - South Africa’s most prestigious brand communication awards.
“What can we say except that it’s a real pleasure to be part of an amazing awards show which really does honor the most gifted young talent in Africa,” says Channel O funnyman Kabelo “KB” Ngakane who promises viewers can expect a show full of “great music, lots of entertainment and a few surprises”.
Winners in the 2009 Channel O Music Video Awards, brought to you by Amarula Cream, are chosen by the public who will be able to make their voices heard via SMS or online or through their mobile phones.
