The finale of the 5th season of the Amstel Malta Box Office (AMBO) was held on Saturday, 5th December 2009 at the MUSON Centre in Lagos.
The show which just wrapped up its 5th season is known as "Nigeria's star maker", previous winners including Azizat Sadiq, OC Ukeje and
Bhaira McWizu have gone on to achieve success from magazines covers to awards and starring roles in movies. Last season's (AMBO 4) winner Wole Ojo is gearing up for his first starring role in the next AMBO Box Office movie.
Previous Amstel Box Office movies including 
Sitanda, White Waters and Cindy's Notes have won numerous awards including Best Picture at the African Movie Academy Awards (AMAAs).
This season started with 10 dynamic young housemates, each day in the AMBO house, they were challenged to various tasks and enjoyed coaching from the top acting coaches in the country. One by one, housemates were eliminated, finally 3 were chosen for the
finale: Ivie Okujaye, Shade Olowu and Ovie Atori.
The finale was hosted by Nigeria's screen darling Stella Damasus-Nzeribe. In the audience were actors Femi Branch, Femi Brainard, Gloria Young and many others. Eventually, it was Ivie Okujaye - a 23 year old student of University of Abuja who took home the grand prize of 2.5 million naira, a brand new car and the chance to star in a blockbuster movie.
