Born Modupeoluwa Ladeji (meaning I THANK GOD) on June 26, 1981 to Dr and Mrs Ladeji. He grew up in a town called Jos located in the central part of Nigeria. His Father Prof. O. Ladeji is a Professor at the University of Jos and his mother works at a hospital as a dietitian. Doplad was raised in an educated environment and education was the priority in his household. As a young man, Doplad was known by everyone in his community due to his inability to sit still and his eagerness to explore the world and what it had install for him. Everyone that knew him knew he was playful and had a passion for sports. He also had another passion that most people did not know about because he kept it to himself. Doplad has a craze for music and he remembers listening to his dad's LP in the study room late at night. James Brown's “I got a feeling” and Bob Marley's “No Woman No cry” were and are still his favorite songs till date. Also, while growing up Doplad listened to artist like the great Fela, Sunny Ade, Dan Maraya, Majek Fashek, and Michael Jackson.
After completing high school, doplad started college at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University but, after his second year, he left for the United States to pursue his dreams. Upon getting to the States, he enrolled in college and also started producing music on the side. In 2002, doplad got back with his original crew from Nigeria, who just moved to the states and they began RS Music. They produced music for local artist in Texas, Virginia, West Virginia and Ohio.
Doplad - And it goes
Doplad is a man that takes education seriously, so upon completion of his graduate degree he decided it is time to release his most anticipated LP - Still Studying Classics. With the help of his original crew (Lvidi Grey and Sykes), Doplad's debut album Still Studying Classics was released January 8th 2010 and it is getting some attention in Dallas, Texas. Doplad will be promoting his album in Nigeria in the spring 2010.
