Kiss Me if you Can [preview] - Rated R

3 Ghananian Actors in Porno Controversy

There is a raging controversy over Muda Filmz’s new movie titled ‘Kiss Me If You Can’. Critics are using unprintable words in damming the movie, while some of the cast are also at the receiving end of all the insults for their roles in the movie.- DailyGuideGhana

Young actress, Martha Ankomah, and two actors, Prince David Osei and Kobi of the music trio, Rana, who were displayed in the movie’s trailer engaging in hot sex are the ones absolving most of the criticisms.

Last week, the movie’s trailer hit the industry with big bang after it was placed on You Tube.

A lot of views that accompanied it were that the level of exposure, in terms of nudity, is too much and wondered if it can’t be compared to the controversial ‘Heart of Men’ and ‘Love and Sex.’

In the trailer, Prince David Osei was in an uncompromising position, having sex with Martha Ankomah from behind in a doggy style in an office.

There was another scene where Kobi was undressing another female, whom he also had sex with; and in the heat of affairs, his ‘ass’ was displayed on the screen in a manner that observers say is worse than what Majid Michel did in the ‘Heart of Men’.

In another scene in the trailer, Kobi was chased naked with his clothes in his hand while he used some to cover his manhood.

While some people say the scenes are useless, those who are kicking against the increasing spate of nudity in the movies are calling for its ban.

A third school of thought says social commentators need to exercise restraint as they believed that the trailer was just packaged to attract attention and may not necessarily be as bad as people are thinking.

Martha told NEWS-ONE on Friday that people should watch for the movie and was hopeful that movie enthusiast would be surprised when they finally see the whole movie.

Last week, Kobi who directed the movie, told this paper it is 18-rated and the level of exposure is not different from any other adult movie that has been on Ghana’s movie scene.

It would be recalled that NEWS-ONE reported that Prince David Osei, and Kobi, who is otherwise called Cornelius Phanthomas, almost came face to face with death when they were nearly lynched at Achimota, a suburb of Accra while shooting ‘Kiss Me If You Can’ at the location.

The two, according to information this paper gathered, were mistaken for thieves by some mechanics and bystanders who were not aware there was a movie production going on.

The actors were shooting a street scene with Martha Ankomah at about 10am, under the Achimota Overpass, when the unfortunate incident occurred. Cameras for the production were placed on the overhead bridge while the actors were down on the street.

David, during the shoot, was running away from Kobi who was pursuing him whilst holding Martha’s hand bag. Martha on the other hand was also running after both of them while shouting their ‘names’.

This gave a clear picture of bag and phone snatchers in that part of Accra, hence the near-lynching incident.

Within minutes, some mechanics and people in the area quickly surrounded the actors with stones and iron rods, ready to give them some thrashing just as it is commonly done in many parts of the country.

Its a bit too graphic as far as the sexual contents are concerned, at least for a trailer. I dont care about the contents of the movie itself, but its a bit much since trailers are generally intended for all audiences.
