Established as recently as January 2009, G.W./Glamour Within African is a privately owned Ugandan company based in Kampala. The brains behind it all is Gloria Wavamunno, a Ugandan national who studied in the UK and at the American Intercontinental University, graduating with a BA in Fine Arts in June last year.
Gloria Wavamunno has been in love with fashion since she can remember. She draws inspiration not only from the fashion era of the glamorous 1950s and 
1960s, the chic/funk from the 1980’s, and from her native country and continent’s culture. GW’s style focuses on the use of African Fabrics that are transformed into unique modern pieces of clothing that one could say are stylish African wear. Experimenting with the versatile use African fabrics have to offer, from embellishment, to mixing it with other textured types of fabrics, GW may be described as Stylish, flirty, chic womenswear, specializing in casual, cocktail and evening dresses as well as bridlewear, swimwear, sunglasses and other accessories.
