Nigeria’s most celebrated talent show, MTN Project Fame West Africa is finally here. You can
catch the third season on air now on several Nigerian TV stations.
From Monday, July 12, you can watch the highlights of the auditions as well as the semi-finals. Highlights of Project Fame will be running through the week. The opening gala night will be on Sunday, July 18 where the final 18 contestants will be revealed to millions of fans and ushered into the Performance Academy.
The contestants would live in the Academy 24/7 and will be tutored by the Faculty- a tight professional group of music instructors whose job it will be to refine the contestants into finished 
and polished articles whose songs will be ready for mass consumption.
From Monday after the opening gala night, 30-minute episodes will be aired showing what transpired inside the Academy amongst the contestants, for the past 24 hours. Today is the performance day when contestants will perform select songs. After their performances members of the public will vote for the contestants who they think had the best performance.
To vote for your favourite contestant just text his/her number to 306 from an MTN line. Each text costs N50. Voting in Project Fame starts form Sunday 8pm to Saturday 4pm.
Next week is the elimination night. The four contestants will be up for elimination. They are however given a chance to save themselves by performing. After their performances, the judges, faculty and other contestants respectively save a contestant who they think ought to be saved. The fourth contestant who is not rescued is automatically eliminated from the show.
In the third season of Project Fame, The winner will be going home with N2.5M, a brand new Toyota RAV4 and a recording contract. The 1st runner up is set to win home with N1.5M and a Toyota Corolla while the 2nd runner up will win N1M and a Toyota Yaris. The 3rd runner up will end up with N1m.

1. Project Fame West Africa debuted in September 2008
2. 15 African youths were shortlisted from the thousands of entries across West Africa in 2008
3. In 2008, Darey Art Alade and Funlola Aofiyebi anchored the show.
4. The last four finalists in 2008 include Praise Adejo, Annette Cookey, Nii Ankra and Iyanya Mbuk.
5. Iyanya was announced winner of the first edition of Project Fame in Decemb er 2008.
6. The norm is for students to be trained in a performance Academy situated in Lagos, Nigeria.
7. Life in the academy is filmed and aired on stations in Nigeria.
