MI vs. Iceberg Slim ‎| NEA Battle

After what went down last night(Nigerian Entertainment Awards), there's no questioning who's better. MI won the best rap act award and dedicated his award to fellow nominee Da Grin (may his soul rest in peace). Iceberg Slim gets on stage right after that to perform his diss track to MI (Am I Better). His hype man was everything but HYPE and the performance was quite weak.

Did it end there? Absolutely not!

The after party was held at pacha night club and both acts had an impromptu battle. Iceberg Slim goes -"this is my city M, you can't F*** with me." He got more than he bargained for as MI proceeded to freestyle and pretty much destroyed Iceberg slim. "Is he better than me, I don't know! is he? I was too busy," says MI.

MI is better than Iceberg Slim (enough said!!)

Iceberg Slim - The Fix

This mixtape captures the earthy and natural form of "Iceberg Slim". The lack of shades symbolizes seeing things for what they really are. Which allows me to speak on everything, with an unbiased outlook. The lack of a fresh haircut/shape-up symbolizes "Iceberg Slim" in his rawest form. There's no audience, stage, or flashing lights...just me and my microphone. The earring symbolizes that even in my darkest moments, I will continue to shine!

Iceberg Slim with Nigerian Girls

Born Olusegun Emmanuel Olowokere and raised in the Bronx, NY.

With both parents hailing from Nigeria, he was exposed to a totally different lifestyle. Trying to balance their culture with the streets of NY, he created himself. He created a strong minded, determined, goal oriented individual. Being the youngest of four kids wasn't too easy for him. Try getting 3rd generation hand-me-downs, in the 8th grade. And how dare he question it, when he should just be grateful that he had clothes on his back. What kept him focused was his determination to succeed. He knew he'd reach the top one day, but how?! Sure, he got his share of A's in school, but he was never the 'book type'. Most things just came to him as common sense!
Sometimes he'd even lay down for hours staring at the cracks in the ceiling, hoping that God would care to care. Not knowing how to voice himself anymore, he turned to pen and paper...and the rest is history. It evolved from poetry into rap. After years of writing and rapping, he decided to be on the other side of the mixing board. He slowly got into Engineering...and that evolved into Production. He has had many influences from Nigerian music, Pop, Reggae, Rock, Jazz and Old School Hip-Hop. That's where his unique sound comes from!

Hear his most recent single Nigerian Girls ft. Sauce Kid.
This one's for the ladies o.
Even though Sauce Kid is featured on this song, I only heard a line from him.
