Julius Agwu Returns with Crack Ya Ribs

Versatile entertainer and one of Nigeria’s leading comedians, Julius D’Genius Agwu is getting ready for his annual comedy show, Crack Ya Ribs. This year’s edition will kick off in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory on July 31.

Crack Ya Ribs has no doubt become one of the biggest annual concerts in Nigeria. The 10th anniversary edition of the event was celebrated in Lagos last year amidst pomp and pageantry. It attracted some top personalities like the Honourable Speaker of The House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole, Presidential aspirant and Publisher of Ovation Magazine, Dele Momodu, Dayo Adeneye, Frank Edoho, Olu Maintan, among many others. Speaking concerning this year’s event, Julius says he is taking the show to another level. “After ten years of the show, we are not expected to continue to do things in the same way. The Abuja people will be the first to have a taste of this year’s show. London will be the next point of call before Lagos and Port-Harcourt. It’s a must attend for all fun lovers”, Julius said.

Crack Ya Ribs has held in different part of the world including London and America. It has always been an exciting evening of music and comedy for fun lovers for the past ten years. Different comedians ranging from Ali Baba, Basorge Tariah, Okey Bakassi, Seyi Law, Gandoki, Dan D Humorous, Senator and Krazy Legs gave out the best of jokes and cracked the ribs of the enthusiastic crowd last year. Music was also not in short supply as acts like Timaya and Dem Mama Soldiers, Ikechukwu, KC Presh, Dr. Sid and Wizkid including Raskimono and Julius Agwu himself thrilled the audience endlessly as they were seen twisting and bending to the cardio vascular demand of the rhythm of the night’s music.

His third album, D’Genius featuring acts like 2Face Idibia, MI, Jesse Jags and few others was released on December 19, 2010.

The nerve of the Nigerian beggar

A man walks past a beggar every day and gives him N20 and that continued for a year. Then suddenly the daily donation changes to N15. "Well," the beggar thinks, "it's still better than nothing."

A year passes in this way until the man's daily donation suddenly becomes N10.

"What's going on now?" the beggar asks his donor. "First you were giving me N20 every day, then N15 and now only N10. What's the problem?"
