MayƩ 's love for music dates back to his childhood days (he was a member of a boy group called Basic Boyz as well as the Pentecostal Church choir), but it was only in 1998 that the music bug bit and he decided to take it up as his career.
Sometimes last year, Maye released
'EKAETTE' - the single that is still being talked about even up-to-date. The song and video received massive air plays on and offline. About a week or so ago, the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) of Nigeria reportedly placed a ban on ekaette (song + video) claiming is had graphic description of sexual scenes and expression not presented with fact and discretion. Olamild Ent (OE) got a hold of Maye Hunta on this issue and he responds:
Yeah there is indeed word around town that Ekaette has being banned but I choose to have no comment on the matter for now. I have since being getting calls from the media and colleagues though. Perhaps, the NBC miht be able to clarify the issue for all of us. - Maye HuntaDespite the quandary, Maye keeps soaring like an eagle. His third single is out & he tags the naija ninja (Sound Sultan) in this one. Street University - melodious tune that simply states the fact that Maye is back in 9ja and back with a bang. It's a positive message because it encourages new artists to strive hard...hard work pays off & na heavy something o. Shout out to Maye & Sound Sultan!!
