Lighter, real name Evans Appiah was born in Ghana, West Africa. He relocated to the United States in the year 1996. He was 8 at the time and resided in the Bronx. Evans attended MS 391 middle school; where he gained the reputation of best rapper and was voted most likely to succeed. His undisputed gifts earned him the pseudonym “Lighter,” given by friends.
