Pérola (meaning Pearl in English) is an African singer and songwriter, born in Huambo – Angola, on 28th of April. She began singing at the age of 7 and has always had a "great" passion for music, which she shared with her neighbors and friends by performing
certain music numbers once in a while for them as a hobby. Since then she participated in several music and dance competitions where she received repeated applauses and praise from the public for the confidence shown on stage.
At 13 years old, she moved with her family to Windhoek, Namibia, where she continued her studies, where she continued to do what she likes the most "Sing".
From 1997 to 2001 she enrolled at Concordia College for the academic period of (8th to 12th grade) where she was part of a dance group called "Earth Girls." She was also invited to sing whenever there was any special activity at the college, which she was very honored to participate.
Still in Windhoek, won the title of Miss Concordia College and participated in a competition to discover new talents, organized by the Catholic Church, having won two trophies, for Best Duet and Best Female Performer of the Night.
In 2002, She left to the South African Republic where she began her tertiary studies at law faculty in the University of Pretoria.
In 2003 she participates in the Musical Competition named Coca-Cola Popstars, where she after moving to the second phase, is taken off the competition for being a foreigner.
Therefore decided to record her album and became part of the Record Label “Bué D'Beats” and publishes in 2004 her first album titled “Os Meus Sentimentos” ( My Feelings in English), thus registering her artistic name "Pérola".
With her first recording project, participated in a list of cultural and social activities, which in some she won several awards, among them are:
- 2004: Prize Radio Luanda, in the category of Best female newcomer;
- 2004: Prize Fashion, Luanda (8th Edition) for Best female Performer;
- 2005: KORA Awards in the category Best Female Artist of Southern Africa;
- 2005 - Integration in the caravan for the artistic representation of Angola EXPO Aichi Japan, city of Nagoia;
- 2005 - Invited to sing at the Official Ceremony of presentation of New Year greetings, of the S. Excellency. President of the Republic of Angola;
- 2007: Law degree from the University of Pretoria in South Africa.
- 2007 - Presentation of the second edition of BIG BROTHER AFRICA;
- 2007 - Participation in the first edition of the DIVAS ANGOLA;
- 2008 - Presentation of a television TRAVEL show on channel 2 of the Public Television of Angola;
- 2008 - Invited to sing at the Gala Internationalization of TPA in Lisbon, Portugal.
In 2008, the production of her second album titled CARA E COROA ( meaning Heads and Tails) began. This album was officially released in Luanda – Angola on the 1st of August 2009 selling 23.000 ( twenty three thousand) copies in 11 hours. The copies are still selling in local stores.
Since then she has continued to grow thus participated in another list of cultural and social events, which in some she won several awards, among them are:
- 2009: Won 3rd place on Top of the most popular, organized by the most important radio station in Angola called Radio Nacional de Angola “RNA”;
- 2009: Was nominated one of the ambassadors of AFRICAN CUP OF NATIONS ORANGE ANGOLA 2010;
- 2009: Won three awards in a Female voices festival in Angola;
- 2009: Participation in the third edition of the DIVAS ANGOLA and won three awards. Was basically the lady of the night;
- 2009: Presented a TV dance show called BOUNCE on channel 2 of the Public Television of Angola;
- 2009: Was Invited to sing at the Official Ceremony of presentation of New Year greetings, of the S. Excellency. President of the Republic of Angola;
- 2010: Her song titled “Omboio” was chosen and used in the open ceremony of the African Cup Of Nations Orange Angola 2010.
- 2010: Won 2 Categories of the Moamas (Online African music awards).
